Book of Dragon

Dragon, one of the most powerful, feared, and ancient types. Dragon Pokemon were some of the first Pokemon to exist, descended directly from the Alpha himself. From there more dragons were made, terrible beasts which would go onto claim dominion over all that they saw. Humans would go onto weave many of a tale detailing the fear and respect they had for these beasts, some humans inspired to tame these monsters and claim their powers for their own.

Many of a civilization has existed around this type throughout history, some of them the most ancient. From the Draconids to the Dragon Clan, humans and hybrids alike have come together to worship and harness the terrible power of the ancient Dragon type, but many have been brought to ruin by the very power they wished to claim.

-The Draconids-

Long ago, in a time when humans were just starting to develop civilizations, a group of people which would be known as the Draconids would develop a society in Meteor Falls. During this era the world was regularly assaulted by meteors, the Draconids taking refuse inside the network of caves that made up Meteor Falls for protection. Believing the meteor showers were punishment delivered by some angry god the Draconids began to carve idols out of the meteors and paid tribute to them.

While the Draconids originally feared the Dragon Pokemon that dwell within the caverns, one Draconid managed to befriend a Dragon from the outside, an Alteria. The Draconids look up to this 'trainer' (as we might call them today) and Altaria for protection against the cave dragons, declaring them to be their chief. One day, when a rampaging Salamence attacked their village the chief and his Pokemon would meet the beast in battle and when defeat seemed certain one of the carved idols he had one his possession began to glow, allowing both Pokemon and 'trainer' to unlock an amazing power, utilizing it to fight back the beast. This was the first record of Dragon Channeling.

Believing the meteors were now gifts from their god the Draconids continued to forge idols, or artifacts, out of the meteorites, the chief teaching them how to harness their powers and thus the first civilization was born.

The Draconids would eventually come out of their cave when the meteor showers stopped and their civilization would thrive. Years later however the ancient Pokemon Groudon and Kyogre would awaken when a massive meteor would strike the ocean, awakening the beasts from their slumber. The colossal beast would upend both the land and sea in their battle, plunging the world into chaos, causing the Draconids to hideaway in fear once again. One Draconid however would not and with a unique rainbow colored stone and their faithful Dragon Pokemon would climb a spire in the middle of the sea and pray to their god for deliverance from these monsters.

For the first time the Draconids would finally get to see the 'god' they built their entire way of life around as Rayquaza appeared in response to the stone's light and with its power would quell the ancient Pokemon, banishing them back underground and under the waves, for them both to sleep yet again. With the fighting ceased their god would depart for the heavens once again but the Draconids would not forget this and built a monument to Rayquaza on the spot of which he was summoned, what is now known as the Sky Pillar.

The Draconids would become a monastic people, their way life revolving around devotion to Rayquaza in mimicking the legend's actions, that is pacifism and using their powers to cease fighting and bring peace. Their pacifist way of life however would be exploited years later when two great empires rose up in the Hoenn region, the Water Channeler civilization of the Kreek of what is now Pacifidlog Town and the Water hybrid civilization of the Gyaan of what is now Sootopolis City. The royal family which ruled the Gyaan, the Haxaman, would go onto forge a mighty empire which was composed of all of mainland Hoenn and Sootopolis while their enemies, the Kreek Republic (eventually becoming the Kreek Empire) would rule most of the islands and the sea around it.

With Hoenn divided by two militaristic powers the Draconids would become divided as well as they refused to use their abilities to harm others. Meteor Falls dwelling Draconids would become the Northern Draconids, which in time would become a little more willing to use their abilities to fight, some serving the Gyaanish Haxaman Empire. While the Draconids of the Sky Pillar would become the Southern Draconids, those that held fast to their ancient beliefs and refused to fight, however the Kreek would respect them greatly for this and their knowledge, the Draconids finding a place in Kreek society as philosophers, teachers, and doctors.

After the Great Fog Calamity the Draconids would find themselves free again as their oppressors all vanished without a trace. However, the years of oppression, exploitation, and sudden collapse of society would also affect the Draconids, their numbers far fewer than they were before the two Water civilizations subjugated them. By the time the Dark One rose up all that was left of the Draconids was the small group of monks which ran the Sky Pillar. In order to help defeat the Dark One the monks would sacrifice their lives, their Pokemon's lives, and their artifacts. Only one Draconid survived to meet the Dark One in the final battle, the Grand Dragon Master. Empowered by the life forces transferred to him from his fellow monks the Grand Master would help deliver the final blow which defeated the Dark One, the master having to sacrifice his own life to do so and with his death marked the end of the Draconids.

Many years later, in modern time, a Snagem would named RC, a Rayquaza hybrid, would master the ancient ways of the Dragon type and with uncovered knowledge of the ancient Draconids would set out to restore the people of the Sky Pillar. He would search for those descended from the ancient people as well as those with the latent ability to Channel with Dragon Pokemon, drawing them to the pillar to be trained to master their powers and pay respect to the Draconid God, Rayquaza. Thus marks the rebirth of the Draconid people.
