Discord is a free way for you to chat with other people through servers, and personal or group Direct Messages with other discord members. Discord offers features like modern text chat so you can easily share images, videos, and links from your desktop or phone, voice chat, video chat, all kinds of bot-commanding, screen sharing, private messaging/direct messaging(PM/DM), in-game overlay, IP & DDoS protection, browser support, a free mobile app, friends list, low latency, minimal CPU, usage, custom hot keys, smart push notifications, permissions, community servers, multiple channels, individual volume control, and automatic failover.
It's a downloadable program, you can use in multiple ways on both computers, tablets, and phones. Discord has a phone app for both iOS and Android devices. However, it's not mandatory to download discord to take part in the server, and to use your account. When you go to the website, you can log-in with the email and password for your account, and discord will launch an in-browser version of the program.
