A lot of time had passed since he'd last visited the Kizi at their borders. He hadn't meant to stay away as long as he had but some unforeseen circumstances had him linger a bit longer on the outer lands. He'd come across two jackals who were mourning the loss of their two pups. They'd set up home a little too close to the stormborn and found that jackal pups might actually be an appealing trophy for some deranged creature. Kurago had lingered there for some time helping the two in their grieving process and being an over all deterrent for any that might want to harm the parents. After all, Kurago was no small lion and, to those that did not know him, he looked quite intimidating.
The two were back on their feet and actually quite helpful and not a burden at all on the large lion. He was happy to travel with his two friends and they were happy to have some protection from bigger meaner looking predators. The three had a co-existence that some how worked.
"So where exactly are we?" Rena was a little tired of walking. The trio had been on all fours for a good long while now and it was unusual for Kurago to keep quiet about where they were going unless he didn't really know. The yellow fox looking jackal could only contain her patience for so long and she felt entitled to know.
"We have been traveling for some time," Junichi chimed in looking less concerned about where they were going and more concerned about his mates temper. Kurago gave them both a side smile.
"We're almost there and you'll be able to see for your self." It was a nothing answer but Kurago couldn't help him self. It was fun knowing where they were going while the other two could only guess. Maybe it was a little mean but it entertained the large lion some. The little things were what made travel worth it and the pleasant surprise for a companion was the choice meat. "Does it really matter if you two know or are you asking because you want to take a rest?"
The two jackals looked at each other for a moment. Junichi's ears folded back but Rena kept her ears up perked up and was the one to answer.
"We're tired." If one thing could be said about Rena it was that she was honest and blunt. She'd speak up if need be. Junichi was a little more submissive to his mate but he could be tough if need be.
Kurago couldn't help but grin down at his two companions. If they had been paying attention they'd had noticed the scenery had changed quite a bit around them. There was lush greenery and a smell of salt as if the ocean couldn't be too far away. They were on the border of the Kizi to meet a friend the two jackals had yet to meet.
The big lion took a seat and waited for his companions to notice. Rena had stopped to take a seat but Junichi, ears still lowered, kept walking a bit before noticing he was on his own and scampered back toward Rena and Kurago. He didn't want to be out in the open on his own.
"Well rest all you want. We're here." Kurago announced.
"But where is here?" Rena grumped. She hated he was being so coy.
