[PRP] Wish for Nothing {Wish Star x Oker}

Only the heart knows the truth behind one's actions. Why we do the things we do or act the way we act. 'Be awesome today.' they always say to one another. But what if, you don't want to be awesome? What if you are content to be a nobody? Or at least, that's what you want others to think. This is the case with one ocean critter with a curly tail, sea-green hair, and a golden star on her head.

Wish Star.

No, not that wishing star. Just. Wish Star.

Life can be full of expectations from those around you. it can be heavy, and feel like a burden to those who do not know how to shoulder the weight. Wish never asked for the expectations of those around her.

Denying her supposed destiny, Wish set out adrift in the ocean. Alone. Away from family and friends. Her little self could only take so much!

Swishing through the current with quick fast thrusts, she swims as if she is swimming away from a predator. Something bigger than herself. Something she fears. Carrying remnants of her herd with her. Those were her ceremony articles. While swimming away from home, she didn't have time to disrobe herself. Paper thin rectangles of pearlescent green shells fluttered in the water around her as she made her escape.

How far would she go?

As far as it takes. Leave me alone! Just forget about me! thought the frantic seathi, as it swims further and further from the life it knew. Answering the question that bubbled in the back of her mind.

Pah! I'm done with all this! she thought. As she swims further, her heart races. How long before fatigue set in? Her thoughts race as fast as the beating in her chest. Why should she have to swim away from home? Why couldn't they just leave her alone?! Her blood starts to boil. Wish winces. All this is making her head throb. Ugh!

Where others might cry from the frustration, Wish gets angry. None of this is her fault! Or at least that's how she feels. The small Star feels like she has been pushed to this choice. Nothing has ever been her choice for all her life!

Today, the heat is quite intense and almost too warm. Oker loves the beach, the ocean, and the feel of salt in his hair. The smell of sweat from the hot summer days? Not cool. Afternoons are either spent napping in the shade or swimming to cool off. A swim can be so refreshing on a blistering hot day.

Oker had decided a swim was the best way to cool down today. Not fearing the depths of the sea, he had swum far from shore. Being a kelpi, he is built for long trips in the water. Having spent his life on the sandy shores, he had built up his endurance for long swims. After he got past the crashing waves, the swim was effortless.

Casually, he swam and spun through the water. He liked the way the water pulled at his hair, and made it float around him with life. Even though no one was watching him, he swam as if someone was. Such a show-off!

He thought he noticed somesoq approaching, and started to show off even more. The thing is though, they are approaching fast. Oker raises a magenta eyebrow and loses focus. Ummmm.... he studies the approach with slight confusion as the water around the swimming bolt glitters and shines.

Wish noticed a figure in the water and near swam past it! She slowed her pace and tilted her head a bit. This strange mer had not one, but two sets of legs. Poor deformed guy... I bet he'll wish for one set of legs!! UGH!! she thought as she gave him a snobbish thrust of her head, and continued to swim on.

NOT TODAY SIR! Learn to live with your destiny!! she thought.

Clearly, this was the kettle calling the pot black. Having never seen a kelpi before, she didn't know any better. But her mind automatically jumped to its own conclusion as to what he was and what his motives were.

Oker wondered if there was a shark in the water! The way that little fish swam, one couldn't help but wonder if she was escaping from something much bigger than her!

When the small seathi slowed down, eyed him like he had mud on his face, then gave him a dirty look, Oker guffawed.

What in the world is her problem? he wonders, shaking his head. Wow...total crustacean. Not cool.

Oker isn't going to let this ruin his day! Flicking off the bad vibes with a tail swish, he returns to enjoying his deep water swim.
