This is a private role-play between Vesper (Calixita) and the familiar Rastus.

When Vesper looked at the list of tasks, she knew this was the one for her. After all, she lived in the desert -- it was perfect! She had a few treasures of her own, but she didn't exactly want to give them up, so it was off to the desert she and her familiar went. Rastus rode on her back, settled on top of her saddle -- usually she carried packages and other deliveries there, but today she had none. Today was just for her! Maybe it was silly to spend it making what was, in essence, a pick up and delivery -- but it seemed fun to do a little exploring, so she volunteered for it right away. She pulled her scarf up to cover her nose and mouth, the wing blowing through her mane as they trudged through the sand. She knew of an ancient ruins near here that was sure to have some interesting things. The wind wasn't so bad within the ruins, and she shook off her scarf from her face and blinked her eyes to adjust to the darkness. It seemed to have been mostly pilfered, but Vesper was certain that there were still a few odds and ends to find.

Rastus hopped down off of Vesper's saddle and stretched out his arms, sniffing the air as the pair of them began to explore the room. He skittered up the walls, his small hands able to grab onto the carvings and paneling. "Let me know if you see anything!" he called out to Vesper below, before scurrying into a hole in the wall.

"Okay -- just don't go to far!" Vesper called out, watching as he disappeared, his little fluffy tail the last to vanish from view. She moved further into the ruins and into the next room. The carvings were a little more extravagant here, so she began poking around the statues and wooden boxes. She pushed away some boards and wooden planks, revealing some old dusty plates and cups made of clay. They didn't seem very valuable, so she pushed them aside to dig further down. There didn't seem to be much here, but she did find a few nice cutlery that she suspected were made of silver. She picked them up and placed them into her satchel to bring back to the Forgemaster. If he wasn't interested in them, she could probably find someone else to buy or trade for them.

"Look what I found!" Rastus called out from above. He heaved a large golden coin from the hole in the wall and let it drop to the floor, scurrying down after it. He picked it up again and brought it over for Vesper to examine. "I think this should be worth something, right?" he asked, rubbing his wrist over the surface to wipe away the dirt and dust. "A bit of cleaning, I bet it'd be nice and shiny again."

Ah, that was a great find! "It looks perfect! We can clean up what we find before we make the walk back," she agreed, taking the coin from her familiar and adding it to her bag. A couple more things and they should be good to return, she thought. "Let's keep looking, just a little longer." She and Rastus explored the next few rooms together, shifting through illegible papers -- most of which crumbled at their touch -- and ruined pots and boxes. They only found a few more things, but it was enough. Vesper found a beautiful golden necklace with a hawk shaped charm on the end, and Rastus discovered a handful more silverware to add to what Vesper had already found earlier. Satisfied, Vesper nodded once the last piece was dropped into her bag. "I think this is enough. Lets head to the lake near the Forgemaster, wash these things up, and hand them in. I think he'll like at least a few pieces that we found, don't you?" Rastus nodded in agreement, and climbed up Vesper's leg to settle on her saddle again.

Together, they traveled back out of the desert and to the lake, washing their finds off as they chatted excitably about their discoveries. It had been a fun trip, and even if the Forgemaster didn't like anything they found, Vesper was glad they did it. Exploring ancient ruins was exciting!
