Book of Normal

The Normal type, believed by some to be the weakest of them all and by others to be the most diverse and unpredictable. While the Normal type in its self usually portrays its self as the absence of element and is usually manifested in raw strength moves such as Scratch or Headbutt the Pokemon which solely possess the Normal type are another story. Many Normal type Pokemon are known for having vast pools of various types of moves, sort as a trade off for being specialized in nothing, instead they gain a little bit of everything. Because of this enthusiasts of the type claim them to be some of the best, however usually easy to train.

-The Lost Lineage-

Long ago, during the Great Elemental War, there existed a Grand Normal Master, a Channeler whose powers could have possibly rivaled that of the Dark One himself. Some called him, or her, the Inviolate, the All One, Preserver of the Elements, and so on. Whoever they were and what they were called was irrelevant, the important part of the legends state that it was by the power of the Grand Normal Master that the alliance of Grand Masters were able to defeat the Dark One, however at a heavy cost, that being the death of the Grand Normal Master himself.

This presented a dire problem that would be felt even today. The teachings of the Grand Normal Master were unique in that there was only ever one Master and a pupil who was groomed from childhood to be their successor, in some ways seen as the destined vessel for the reincarnated spirit of the earthbound Original One, Arceus. However in the war his pupil perished and before another could be chosen and ordained by sacred rites so did the Master their self fall. Thus the ancient ways were lost, the fabled secrets and powerful knowledge they had erased from history, never to be known again.

Many would pretend to be their successor but this only resulted in much fighting and thus the Order of the Original was fractured and eventually destroyed from within. Normal hybrids still exist today, though with only the guidance and knowledge they gained themselves since. Normal Channelers however have mysteriously disappeared, they artifact almost never unearthed, perhaps because there were only ever two in existence and while more could be born the knowledge to harness their abilities was gone. Some may possess Normal Channeling capabilities and even self-made artifact, but even untold years later their progress is still far behind what was known during the age of the last Grand Master.

Some worry the day will come where they will need a true Normal Channeler again to banish the Dark One once more but many despair that never again will one rise up.

-Bareeno Village-

A small village west of Floaroma Town, beyond the forest down a dirt road. Partially surrounded by forest and ending on a cliff overlooking the sea. The citizens of the village are all kinds of Normal type hybrids, most of them descended of the Bareeno Tribe, a tribe of Bidoof and Bibarel hybrids. Originally the Bareeno Tribe made their home in the location of the Valley Windworks and were forced to relocate north of Floaroma Town. Eventually they were once again moved, the then tribal elder selling their land to the Fuego Ironworks company in exchange for land west of Floaroma and a hefty payment. These days the the village does well for themselves, the village built using the funds they gained from the Fuego sale and now make a business out of fine wood sculptures and other trinkets.

Their homes are all made from the logs gathered from the surrounding forest, intricate creations, each one unique with their own carvings to reflect the history of the family living there. A small river runs through the village which powers the town lumber mill. As one might assume the hybrids of Bareeno Village are both an industrious and artistic people, and though their methods are old fashioned they do not shun modern technology completely. However the local 'Pokemon Center' strictly uses herbal remedies and hybrid move care which is ran by such hybrids as Blissey and Ambipom

A sizable potion of the hybrid make up is that of Bidoof and Bibarel hybrids, these hybrids largely descend from the founders however these days no one group of hybrids is a majority. There is also a sizable Dunsparce hybrid community, relatively small persons who specialize in mining activity, mainly the mining of coal which is then sold to the Fuego Ironworks. An assortment of hybrids tend to farming which include such ones as Sawsbuck and Diggersby. As one might guess the community is very specialized where everyone is given a specific role to fill in order for the village to remain largely self-sufficient. However all Normal type hybrids are welcomed to become part of their community as the original tribe always found a kinship with their fellow type; those deemed 'weak'.

The villager leader is a female Delcatty hybrid named Toshiko Bareeno, married to the current clan leader of the Bibarel founders, Biba Bareeno. A no-nonsense feminist woman who takes pride in being a Normal type hybrid and believes themselves in some ways being superior to other types in that they possesses mastery not over just one element but are capable of harnessing many. She herself was a native of Hoenn before journeying to Sinnoh and rising up through the social ranks of Bareeno Village before marrying her husband and was voted in by the elder council as Bareeno Chieftess. Some say her marriage was one of purpose, just to claim the leadership role, and this would not be outside of her ambitious personality. It's said that once a group of Pokemon poachers encroached in their surrounding woods, heavily armed with the intent to hunt the local Buneary colonies, desired for their uniquely soft pelts. Toshiko is said to have taken on the entire group of hunters herself, unarmed, and apprehended them without a scratch before turning them over to Floaroma police.
