I just finished reading The Man Who Mistook His Wife for a Hat and Other Clinical Tales, a book about a series of strange neurological cases the author, a doctor, had come across during his career. It is aptly named for one of the stories in which a man has a neurological disorder that literally has him mistake his wife for his hat in the doctor's office, an excellent example of the types of cases found within.

I'd definitely recommend it for anyone who has an interest in medicine or in non-fiction, although it was written in the 80s so some of the medicine is a bit outdated. Some of the stories are also a bit unsatisfying in that they are not always (or even often) cured or resolved, and not even always diagnosed. Just snapshots of the horrifying things that can happen to a human being if their brain malfunctions.
