[PRP] Sweet Music ( Creme Brûlée x Musette)

Creme Brûlée wasn’t too sure why he had come into the forest. He had set his hooves on a random path and followed it but now....

Now he was LOST.

He had come to another fork in the road and was glancing back and forth between the two paths. Ears flicking in mild irritation. Ala Crem would tease him if she knew the predicament he had gotten into. The mare thought herself so smart.

Flaring his nostrils lightly he adjusted his wings against his back before going left. But then he stopped and decided on the right path. If only the tree tops weren’t so thick he could just fly out.

“Your wings can’t solve everything.” He muttered to himself. Words his sister often used. But his wings could have solved this...he shot the trees an exasperated look. Hanging his head as he walked along the new path. He hoped it would at least get him out of the forest. If he could just see sku again.

Musette wasn't as familiar with these woods as she had thought, and had found herself a bit turned around. Her hunt for some end-of-summer blackberries had taken her far off course, but she wasn't overly worried. Things always had a way of working out, and if worse came to worse, she could shrink down and hide from any danger--or make her way to the tops of the trees and let the wind carry her somewhere else.

Granted, being small came with its own setbacks. Animals that wouldn't think twice to mess with her in her full-sized form could find her easy prey when little. Additionally, the wind, which allowed her to fly, could also batter her around, and send her somewhere far off course.

Ah, the spirits could be tricky things--but Musette was certain things always worked out for a reason.

"I know you, I've walked with you once upon a dream~" The little delicate mare sang to herself, picking her way through the thick foliage without too much fear. "I know you, the look in your eyes is so familiar a gleam..." Her walking was at risk of turning into a bit of a dance, even as her rainbow wings twitched and flared as she moved. If she wasn't singing, she was dancing, and more often than not, she enjoyed doing both. That she was fast approaching Creme Brûlée wasn't a deterrent, even if she had been aware of their proximity.

Having been wandering through this forest for a while on his own he hadn’t expected the sudden sound of another’s voice. But it wasn’t just random talking. Someone was singing.

It was a rather lovely song to say the least. And whoever was singing had a very beautiful voice. That was drawing ever closer....

Ears flicked back and forth as he listened to the words and melody. It was catchy. “I know you, I’ve walked with you once upon a dream....” Before he realized what he was doing Creme Brûlée was singing along, having stopped in the middle of the path.

He felt so swept up in the song he had forgotten he was lost. His large body swayed back and forth as all four wings spread wide. The tips touching the high branches of the trees around him causing leaves to flutter to the ground. Soon to be kicked up by his hooves. His heart was racing and he didn’t quite know why.

Musette was a musical little flutter, and all the time she had sung, she'd never once heard the winds sing back. So to hear a strange voice, not far ahead--just behind foliage of the path she'd been taking, quite startled her. She was not afraid of the voice--in fact he, for it was of a deeper timbre than she could ever reach--but she was rather charmed.

Did he know the song too? Or had he simply been clever and picked up the refrain from what he'd heard? Oh, it was too delightful a prospect, regardless how he might know the song. Surely, no matter who was out there, they were destined to cross paths -- even if it was simply so she could compliment him on their impromptu duet.

She had never been a fearful creature, and she did quite wish to meet whoever had so boldly sung along! Shaking a few curls out of her eyes, the mare had stopped singing, only so she could hurry herself ahead. Thankfully, Creme Brûlée wasn't far. Stepping through the thick foliage of the woods, the mare caught sight of a winged soquili--though his wings were fascinatingly large and full of pale feathers.

"What a lovely voice you have,' she complimented, quite impressed. He certainly was larger than she was--but as a flutter, it wasn't difficult. She'd never seen a soquili with so many wings. Her adopted fathers had no such thing, nor her adopted brothers; and her own mother looked much like herself as far as being a flutter, at least from what she remembered.

Honestly, the stallion was positively a delight to stumble upon. He wasn't the bunches of blackberries she'd been hoping to find--but she didn't mind a diversion.

Creme Brûlée certainly didn’t expect someone to suddenly pop out of a bush but there she was. She was quite small. It amused him, her small size did. But he also felt it quite endearing. As if he needed to whisk her away and protect her from the rest of the world. And it took quite a bit of restraint on his part to not do exactly that. It was an overwhelming feeling and he almost missed what she has said to him.

His head lowered slightly as a rumble of thanks passed his lips. “Where you the other one singing?” The stallion asked knowing that that was probably the case but it was just polite to ask.

“I couldn’t help myself, it’s a lovely song.” He didn’t know a lot of songs and wasn’t very musical at heart but every now and again Creme Brûlée enjoyed a good tune.
