The morning was slowly becoming mid day. The sun was shinning through the trees as he slowly walked along a well established path. It felt like ages since the last time he had ventured out. His legs were aching to get some movement. He thought about going for a good run, but for the moment he was enjoying the cool breeze of the morning, and the warm kiss of the sun sneaking through the greedy trees.
The forest was his favorite place, a place he always came back to. He had spent a while with some humans, helping them with farming and other activities that needed some horse muscle. But now, he was able to get back to his usual life. Able to step back into the open land. Though, he did miss those strange creatures. He'd visit them soon in the future. Such gentle creatures, those things. Plus they always gave him treats.
He smiled on the thought, then felt his stomach rumble. Hmm, he thought, it had been a while since he last ate. He stopped for a moment and lifted his head to the air to get a look above him. Trying to determine where he should start heading for a nibble.
