Qarinah checked the skies of her mountain home and decided the snow storm was done for now. It was still early enough in the day that she decided to go down to the lower home and see if anyone wanted a reading. Not that many did. She shifted to her feral owl form and slowly took off. She drifted silently as she circled down lower and lower.
On approach to the house, she didn't see anyone nearby. But that was hardly surprising to her. Few had the guts to venture this high up, almost to the snowline. It made it all the more fun when someone did. She landed and walked her way up to the house. Moving on the ground in this form, was much more cumbersome, yet she couldn't risk the chance a pony might see her shifting form and discover her true nature.
Qarinah let herself in and shook the snow from her feet and talons. She could spend a few hours here working on things, and then once darkness came she could go out and hunt. The owl fluttered about her home moving things and tiding. (WC: 190)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Shadow Storm was out and about on a mission from his mother as he shifts into his hawk form in order to take to the skies as that was the easiest way for him to travel long distances. After all he is more comfy in his feral form than in his regular form. His wings stretched out as he soars in the sky looking down and around the ground for something. His mother didn't really say what it was that he was looking for. But he was told that he would know it once he sees it. Although that didn't help him one bit. All it did was leave him more confused than he started. Why couldn't she just tell him out right what it was.
After some time in the sky he comes to a snow covered mountain as he then sees a house. How odd he thought as he landed on the ground and stays in his hawk form as he hops from tree top to tree top. Why would something like this be out here all by it's self. So out of place. Maybe this is what he was looking for? But he knows that his mother wasn't been out this far before so why would this be what he is looking for. Maybe not. Maybe he went too far and now he is just at some interesting place. That had to be it. Now maybe he should look into this out of place thing and see what he can find here. (WC: 255)
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Despite being busy, her hearing was excellent. She paused in her work and set some small sticks aside. Qarinah tilted her head to one side and then the other. Yes, yes she'd heard it. Something had come to land outside of her home. She puffed up her feathered delighted. Now to lure them in.
"Hello?" She hooted softly. "Is someone out there? Perhaps someone who wishes to have a reading done of their future?" Qarinah hopped up to her stand in preparation in case her visitor should come in. She hoped they would. She was in a fine mood to do a reading! What possibly horrible thing could she come up with for them? It was best to wait until she saw the unfortunate pony before deciding anything. (WC: 128 )
