A young woman, skin like porcelain, walked the streets of New Po Town, wondering what life was like beyond the walls. She couldn't remember how she had ended up here in this world of smog of hunger, trapped within this strange dome. She'd been living here for years, even her name unknown to her yet no matter how had she tried to speak to people and how much she tried to connect the dots, everything always came up blank. Either people wouldn't speak to her at all or, in some cases, they fled in fear. Someone even tried to attack her once. All she knew for certain was that she wasn't like the other residents of this world, however many of them there truly were. Even the ones called "Hybrids", what few she had ever seen, were unlike her. Most appeared to be like animals of some kind, though not ones she was familiar with, not that she remembered many to begin with.
The only creature she could recall having obtained since coming to this world was odd wizard-like creature that kept her company. It was called "Slowking", if she recalled correctly. She had decided to give it a name when it had become her friend, though, to help it remember their friendship the way she wished she could recall everything else. So she had called it "Fantasia".
She felt like Fantasia was to be her only friend in this world. However, when the explosion of poisonous gases had erupted in Flower City, she turned to face the city with fear in her eyes. If something happened there, what little chance she had of living any kind of life might be extinguished by the time it began. And so she rushed toward the site, hoping to offer what little aid she could to as many people as she was able to. Upon reaching the city, clouds of gas were everywhere, wafting through the streets completely uncontrolled. "Fantasia! Do whatever you can to help contain this!" She exclaimed, tossing out the Beast Ball containing her one and only Pokemon. The Slowking that emerged was unlike any most would be familiar with. It had already evolved by the time she found it but the Shellder upon it's head was dark and covered it's eyes, it's own menacing glare replacing Slowking's normally kind ones. "Sloooow." It began, eyes glowing faintly with a pink light as it used Expanding Force, it's psionic energies growing outward rapidly. It wouldn't take long before Slowking engulfed massive clouds of the gasses within the growing range of it's psychic power and began to compress the toxins within, pressing them inward with relative ease until they have become chunks of poisonous stone left to fall harmlessly to the ground. The pair would make their way through the streets, repeating the process as often and as many times as possible until they had made their way up into the Branches and to the seat of true power here in on Aether Isle where they could hear the sounds of some grand battle taking place within.
""Fantasia, let's go!" Clare urged her partner as the pair began to follow the sound of battle. They were accosted at least once by a group of humans infected by The Hunger but when they attempted to take a bite out of Clare, they found their teeth cracked and broken against the stone hard glass that formed her body. In the struggle, she lost one of her sandals and stockings as well as one of her gloves, leaving her transparent extremities exposed. "Power Gem! Get rid of them!" She called to her partner as she staggered backward once out of the grip of the crazed infected, looking away as Fantasia's Power Gem crushed them into the nearby wall, leaving them battered and broken. They needed to find the sounds of battle and see if they could help whoever was fighting. Something bad was happening here, she knew it. She just wasn't sure what.
Racing through the mostly empty halls, she would eventually hear the cry that answered her questions. Where, what and why. Guzzlord. The beast had somehow managed to breach the dome. The throne room, it sounded like, or at last somewhere very near it. The sounds of battle must be coming from some brave souls who had the strength and the courage to fight against it -to try and salvage what little life remained on this gods forsaken rock before it went completely dull and dead. By the time she had managed to find her way to the scene of the fighting, however, it was all over and done. The beast was downed and all that remained, for only a moment longer, at least, was a massive chunk of stone from the stars crashing toward the island. That, too, did not last for long. This collective, as small as they appeared to be, had what this world had been lacking for some time now. Gumption and a desire for change. Sadly, they had not what the rest of the world had lacked for far too long: time. Though the falling stone be broken and the island saved, for how long? From the entrance to the great hall where it had all taken place, Clare looked up at the hole in the sky and dread crept into her being. The fog outside was winding its way in from above. It was only a matter of time before it did what it had always done and filled every nook and cranny within the dome the way that it had done outside it for so many years and then what? Would anyone or anything be able to survive in this now? Did anything outside still live, anyway? Hanging her head, hand at the top of her wide-brimmed hat to hide her face in case anyone actually happened to see her, tears began to fall. She had hoped to one day find a home in this world, to find a place where she could belong. Already, it seemed, that chance had been stolen away from not only her but anyone and everyone that still survived up to now. What was to become of it all? Was there even a point in wondering at this point?
