Centaurs and elaphotaurs of all stripes and sizes would be congregated together. Herds of all variety would have their bands in tow; foals and youth would be free to run around together while the adults could trade and swap stories with old and new faces. Tents and stalls would be set up, so merchants could hawk their wares, and despite the great numbers, no one would ever seem to go hungry for long! Warriors would show off their strength and skill in mock-battle, while crafters would share their knowledge and show off their skills.
The nights would be full of singing, dancing, and music -- and strangely enough, no quarrel would last for long. Perhaps it was the island magic in the air... However, for all those joined, it was a time of celebration, peace, and joy.
The great gathering was meant to last an entire week, and new friends, new loves, and new stories were just the beginning.
Welcome to Mythikos Grand Opening Event!
We've been slowly working on getting the shop ready to go, but it's certainly taken time! Even now, the shop is in a constant state of construction, and not everything is filled-out completely, but we feel it's ready enough to warrant a Grand Opening Event!
Our staff have been hard at work behind the scenes preparing a fun week full of giveaways. Most of the games will take place in the guild, but others will be given out in the main thread -- so be on the lookout!
Before we begin, there are some rules we'd like you to keep in mind:
General Event Rules
Everyone can participate! This includes staff, who are also part of our player base!
Staff cannot win pets they create, no matter the contest type -- they can win pets other staff made.
Staff cannot win pets from games where they are the judge or are assisting in judging.
Players can only win 1 General Event Taur and 1 General Event Familiar in the Event, as well as 1 RP Event Taur and RP Event Familiar in the Event.
General Event Pets are obtained through games that are not judged writing games. (Flaffles, Food Contests, Dice Games, Etc.)
RP Event Pets are obtained through writing games that are judged! (RP Contests, Personality Contests, Create-an-Inn Name, Power Contests, etc.)
Staff will always indicate whether the pets are Gen Event Pets, RP Pets, or a mix of both in the rules!
There may be some cases where you do some writing (such as a Flaffle asking for your favorite color and why), but as the events are given out Flaffle style, it would be considered a Gen Event Pet -- not an RP pet. Always be sure to double check the rules so you know what you get!
If the game is a hybrid game (meaning there is part RP Contest, part Flaffle), the winner of the RP Pet is not eligible to win in the same game's flaffle as they already won a prize in the game, and vice-versa.
Should we have more pets than players, we will give them out another way immediately following the close of our event.
Human error is bound to happen. If you find your name got missed or a mistake was made, if winners have not been announced, you can reach out to the individual running the game to let them know. If winners have already been announced, there's nothing to be done. We will try to check lists but we are only human. There will be other chances for pets!
Be kind and supportive! Don't complain about the pet you win, or grumble about others winning! Good sportsmanship is required -- if you can't be happy for your fellows then say nothing at all.
If you are unlucky or upset at not winning, or otherwise want to rain on the event's parade, please don't -- at least not publicly! We understand disappointment, but griping about it only makes customer's feel bad! Events are supposed to be a fun time -- sure, there's some competition and it's never fun not to win, but there will always be other chances!
You are not allowed to pass on known prizes. If you pass, you forfeit your right to win another.
You are allowed to pass on unknown or surprise prizes but only once!
You are not allowed to pass on semi-custom contest pets or pets that need to be created on the fly, like a palette pet giveaway.
For Judged RP Pet Games, any prompt writing that you do can be turned in for RP Points! It should just be the prompt portion -- places where you enter the name, or your username, etc. shouldn't be included. [Personality and/or Histories are okay!]
