Callidora smiled as she took a moment to survey her teahouse. It was small but she loved it there. She had several tables for patrons to enjoy their tea at, along with a wall of teapots and cups for use or sale. A happy fire sprite kept her fire going at an even temperature without much tending from her. And a pot of water sat ready to warm up for her customer's tea.
Today was a slow day and Callidora was busying herself checking herbs and spices on the wall behind her counter. Her list of items she was running low on were noted down on a small chalkboard she used to keep track of that sort of thing. No point in wasting paper when she was forever having to write lists. Even with her back to the door she would hear someone come in. If for nothing else but the bells above the door.
Humming, Callidora picked up a jar of cinnamon that was almost empty and sniffed the contents. Still good. It was one of the more popular spices to go in her teas so she expected it to be good but always checked anyway. Putting that back and noting down the need for more, Callidora moved to the next spice. Cloves this time.
As she moved though her inventory Callidora began to softly sing. It wasn’t anything fancy. Just a little ditty for her jars. “Here be the spices, here be the herbs…a dash of this, a dash of that…add to the pot…and you get the best tea in town.” There was a reason she wasn’t a song writer. She could sing well enough to not offend other denizens of her area but her ditties were basic and sometimes questionable. Callidora wasn’t ashamed of her silliness as she was enjoying herself. No harm done.
