Which Taur? Moon Glow
Centaur's Name: Lilias
Centaur's Personality: Inquisitive, determined, and persistent, Lilias is not a centauress to give up on something once she's made up her mind to pursue it. There's so much in life that she wants to experience and understand, and she isn't shy about asking question after question until she's satisfied. It is magic in particular that calls to her. There's so much of it in their world, so many ways it interacts with objects, locations, and even people--how anyone can't be obsessed with finding out more is baffling to her. Though she is a sociable creature, her blunt questions can be extremely off-putting, and her direct manner can make her seem unfriendly. She can be extremely pushy without realizing it, blind to others' discomfort and other social cues with her questions and intrigue. If made aware of her blunders, she'll be mortified of her lack of manners and apologize... but it won't be long until she's trying to tease out more answers to satiate her curiosity.

With her ability to hyper-focus on things, Lilias can easily lose sight of the bigger picture and wind up in situations that could be avoided. Still, every failure or setback only makes her more determined to succeed. She's going to find her answers one day... even if they aren't at all what she'd suspect. Though quirky, she's an intelligent centauress, eager to share her passions with anyone who shows interest.

Centaur's History: Ever since she was a child, Lilias' favorite question was 'why?' Her family herd was nomadic, wandering far and wide across the Chimera Island, and Lilias was able to experience much of its distinct and varied landscape. 'Why did the trees grow so tall here?', she wanted to know. 'Why is this place sandy, but not others?' Why, why, why? And then, from one of her earliest memories, the herd came to the Rainbow Pools. The vibrant colors awed the little foal, and immediately, she wanted to know why they were such beautiful colors! 'Magic,' Her papa told her with a laugh as he scooped her into his arms. 'Just like how you were brought to me!'

Lilias had never considered the fact that, unlike some of the other foals, she only had one parent. Her father had explained to her that she had been his wish on a star, and the very next morning, he'd woken to find her curled up against his side.

Magic. The thought was exhilarating. So the magic had brought her to her papa! What else could magic do? What was magic? From then on, everything and anything to do with magic had Lilias' immediate attention. As she grew older, so did her obsession with learning all she could about it. Did it have limits? Could someone like her find a way to use it? As the herd roamed, she began to document what she could, taking notes on different types of magic that she observed. No matter how small or subtle the magic was, Lilias wanted to see it all. The herd even encountered individuals that had been blessed by magic during their travels... and more than once, Lilias was severely reprimanded for being far too eager to drill the strangers for information.

The time came when she was old enough to fend for herself, and though it broke her heart, Lilias decided to leave her herd in order to better pursue her research. Her father embraced her with tears in his eyes and a smile, promising that if she ever grew weary of her travels, she was always welcome to come home. With his blessing, she set out on her own, bright-eyed and eager to make her own discoveries.

Anything Else? I'm very taken with the idea of her receiving a curse one day and realizing that magic may not always be as benevolent as she thinks!

Which Taur? Archer
Centaur's Name: Seros
Centaur's Personality: Seros is a very upbeat personality. He's happy to brag to others about his own feats, and glad to hear of the encounters that they are most proud of. He loves children, very much enjoys teaching them and playing with them and watching their little brains wrap around new and exciting information and experiences. Seros is very good at working in high vibrations -- it's the lower vibrations he struggles with. He does not like to be sad or mad or troubled in something he can't work his way out of emotionally. He'll often turn to some way to distract himself, sometimes even including situations and substances that are less than advisable.
Centaur's History: Seros was always a long and lanky boy, lithe and spritely and damn near more agile than he had any right to be. He was occasionally teased for his size and found it best to laugh it off as much as possible, though as he grew it became harder to ignore and avoid, and eventually he found himself in a few situations of less-than-friendly sparring. Rather than finding strength to be his strong suit amongst his peers, Seros found that he was very good at evasive maneuvers, and putting himself in exactly the right position to utilize a well-aimed kick rather than a strong tackle to win these spars he began to himself in. He loved a challenge, often to his own detriment, but was always smiling through the bruises he sustained to learn his own fighting form. Eventually he became less of a target as he proved that he did not need to be large and intimidating to still be a formidable opponent.

Eventually he found his way into archery. With keen eyesight and the ability to focus into a calm center when necessary, he found that the sport suited him quiet well; in a hunting atmosphere, Seros found that his small frame came in quite handy as he was able to stay light on his hooves and remain stealthy as he moved into better positions from which to shoot his prey. Unfortunately one outing turned dangerous when a friend and hunting fellow failed to notice that he was traversing through a chenit's nest, and the territorial animal emerged to ruin the man's day. Not only was Seros's friend bitten and shredded by chenits, but the game they'd been closing in on from opposite sides spooked and careened directly into the chaos on it's route to escape. He was badly injured and laid up for months in recovery, during which Seros found it difficult to leave him to his own devices. Instead of continuing through the hunting season, he stayed close to home to visit his recovering friend every day.

With little to distract him, Seros found it difficult to not dwell in what went wrong on that day, how he could have better helped his friend, even just by trying to corral their quarry into a different direction... They should have had more 'taurs accompany them, to make sure that there were more points of security. He turned scenarios over and over in his head, a constant buzz that would hardly let him rest. He began to turn to unsavory places for distraction, indulging too much in substances that would turn the narrative in his mind to anything else.

In the hours he wasn't losing himself in darkness, a somewhat reliable backup for distraction was the continued practice of his archery with training dummies and his own chosen exercises. Eventually a few others in his herd took notice and asked for pointers and help picking up the skill, and a few of those wanted help not for themselves but for their children. Seros was happy to oblige and began holding classes for anyone who wanted to learn or hone their craft. He found himself fulfilled in ways he didn't expect by the children; their energy fed him in new and lovely ways, he loved watching them learn and figure things out, both in archery and in other matters. More and more he taught classes, and less and less was he finding need for other distractions.

Once his friend fully recovered, Seros occasionally joined the hunting parties again, but the thrill of a hunt was dampened by the anxiety of something going wrong, and barely came close to the excitement of watching younglings come into their own craft. Ultimately, Seros chose to spend the majority of his time teaching rather than hunting. He spends most of his time now dedicated to his mentees.
Anything Else? The hunting encounter is a bit wishy-washy just because brain doesn't have time or full info to make it better, but I hope it's alright. <3
