Kale watched Rocky squeeze herself into the crevasse but his ears swiveled in the direction of the sound up above. The Werewolf was close. Too close. He felt the blood of his last feed rushing through his veins, had he a heartbeat it would have been pounding in his ears. His pupils dilated out of fear as the scent hit him again. This time stronger. He looked back quickly to see if Rocky had finished making her way in before he moved again. The less noise the better. He finally crept toward her as stealthily as possible.
The large male tucked his wings close to his back, as close as he possibly could, and slid sideways into the opening. It wasn't going to be easy for him. She was thankfully smaller so she would at least be safe. Kale was going to struggle to get in beside her however. And struggle he did. His talons gripped the earth as he used his strength to squeeze himself in, he'd definitely have some cuts and scrapes after this was over, probably ******** up his flight feathers a bit as well which was agitating. Luckily they healed fast. The sound of earth shifting grated on every single nerve he had. Any sound sent his fight or flight skyrocketing. He was stronger now since the last time he had fought a Werewolf but you never forgot the terror of encountering one when you weren't strong enough. He finally managed to fit himself into the hole, luckily he didn't need to breathe or he probably would have suffocated under the pressure.

Rocky might have been small but Kale most certainly was not. And as he pushed his way inside with her his size became rather evident. Of course, anyone with two eyes could see Kale was larger than most. It just wasn’t until they had to squeeze into the hole together that it really hit home. Especially since it had been so easy for her to slip in but he had had a time of it. She tried to press herself as flat against the back wall as she could but there was just no avoiding him. He’d smacked her a couple times and she was already irritated by her broken shoulder and she had to resist the reflex to bite him. “With all that thrashing I’m surprised it isn’t already in here trying to get us.” She growled softly under her breath. As if it had read her mind there was a sudden crash at the hole they had been standing at only moments earlier. Rocky’s ears pinned back as she tried to flatten herself against the walls again but had run out of room. “s**t.” The pitch of her goice had gone a little bit higher but she tried to keep as quiet as she could. The last time Rocky had seen let alone been in the same vicinity of a Werewolf was many many years ago. She was older, stronger sure; but she had never tested her mettle against one. And this one looked like the wrong to try.

Kale ignored her comment, he was near losing his s**t as the Werewolf got closer. The crash made all of his muscles seize up. He was trying desperately not to frenzy but it was getting harder. ********. ******** this. He hated that his beast wanted to tear through his flesh every time he even smelled one of these things. He wasn't sure if it would ever stop. But he wasn't in a position to think about that s**t right now. Not when they were in this much trouble. He tucked his wings in as hard as he could but he was still close to the opening. There wasn't much else he could do.
His chest began to rise and fall rapidly as he tried to calm his beast. Tried not to let it get control of him. It wouldn't take much to tip him over the edge. Not now that they were trapped in here and the Werewolf was so close. If he was going to greet his final death he was going to go out fighting. And he would make sure it, at the very least, didn't get Rocky.

She could sense his beast was getting freaked the ******** out and if pushed too far it was going to get them caught and in some serious s**t. It was kind of sad that she was going to have to be the reasonable one and keep him under control. Otherwise, yea mince meat. Grabbing his arm she lifted it and slid her way around his body so that she was now in front of the hole. Pushing him back up against the back wall. If she could just get him to focus and settle down maybe they would survive. She was only mildly irritated by the situation and who knew Kale to freak out about anything really. Rocky’s ears perked as she listened to the large creature milling about in the den. A hand going to Kale’s mouth as she stood there and listened. She couldn’t hear over his heavy breathing and if he gasped anymore they would most certainly be found out. “Calm the ******** down, Kale.” She hissed under her breath. Unable to tell just how close it was to their little hidey hole.

Rocky moving suddenly jostled him a bit from his momentary fixation on keeping his beast subdued. His golden gaze slid to regard her, but his gaze was strange, almost like looking at a stranger. Her voice broke the silence, and he snapped out of it. He was irritated as well, but she was right. He had to get control. Kale closed his eyes for a moment to try and calm himself. He jerked his mouth out of her hand and nodded. He got it. He was working on it. The sound of the Werewolf continued to drive his aggression up and make his beast squirm but he was focused on keeping himself from being the reason they were discovered.
He needed to get them out of here. He could fly, if he had enough room to gain lift, but with the roots crowding the already small den, and them being stuck in a crack, he knew that wasn't an option. He didn't want Rocky going near the opening and his claws reached out to settle on her shoulder, his face calm though still strange. He pulled her away from the entrance and shook his head. Too close. It would be more likely to smell her the closer she got.

At least he seemed to be calming down. Even just a little was a good thing because then maybe that would give her time to formulate a plan on getting out of here. But as it was there was only one way out and that way had a big, hairy werewolf blocking it. When his claws grasped her shoulder she turned her head just slightly. Her ear flicking up so that she wouldn’t hit him in the face with it. Rocky allowed him to pull her back but only just a little before she brushed his hand away from her shoulder and her gaze returned to the monster outside their hidey hole. “Listen, there is only one way out of here…” Her voice was still a whisper. Rocky was surprised she was even able to get anything out with how tight her throat felt. “I’m smaller and faster so I can draw it away. Then when it’s gone you run or fly for it whatever.” Her pupils were narrow slits now as she prepared herself to put this plan into action. There really was no other way. She might be fast enough. Or not. But Rocky could haul a** with the best of them. The Vampires couldn’t stay here. There was no choice. Kale would get caught up in fighting or the roots of this tree if it wasn’t her and she couldn’t let him get hurt like that. Not when she could have done something.

Kale considered Rocky's body language, her eyes, the timber of her voice and he felt his stomach drop. He didn't like what she was saying. Not at all. She was injured from being hit, there was no way she was going to outrun a fully grown male Werewolf in her condition.
"There's no way you're going out there like this. Are you ******** kidding?" His luminous golden eyes searched her face, almost incredulously. Rocky was brave, often fearless, but this was suicide, and while he had no doubt she could handle her s**t when not injured she was still messed up. He knew she was right in another sense, if Kale went out there it was a fight. Probably to the death.
The Elder glanced around, his nerves on edge, he hated this. But he couldn't let Rocky go out in her current state. "Here, don't argue, drink." He held his wrist up to her mouth, his gaze steely as he did. "You won't last five seconds if you go out all jacked up. But you can at least heal and have a shot." He fought every instinct he had letting this plan continue, he should have just shoved her down and barreled out like an idiot. But there was no guarantee that he would win. And then Rocky was on her own completely, injured. If she could lure it away enough for him to get out of this hole he could snag her and carry them both off. It was a long shot but what choice did they really have?

She knew she was injured and probably wasn’t at her best. But it was just her arm not her feet. The loss of one arm would be no biggie. Rocky scowled at his reply to her plan. “What other ******** choice do we have? If you’ve got any other ideas in that brain of yours I sure as fick would like to hear them.” Rocky paused when he held up his wrist to her mouth. The Gangrel did not enjoy feeding from other vampires. Somehow it felt wrong. It tasted wrong. Some others might have liked it but she was not one of them. Even if It might have helped her. Sharing blood like that seemed to just lead to trouble and she didn’t need that kind of trouble shadowing her door step. There was enough on her plate currently already. Wrinkling her nose she turned her face away and closed her eyes like a petulant child. “I don’t need it. I’ll be fine.”
