Time was a thing of the past and the demon honestly could not recall how long he had been inside this place. The music was s**t and the company was equally so, but then he wasn't here for the company or the music, was he? No, no, he was here for something much simpler than that. Mordecai was here for the sole purpose of drowning out his own thoughts, to soothe the sting of abandonment with booze.
The alcohol had a burn to it, which bloomed a warmth through his chest and abdomen simultaneously. He had not gone too far yet, pacing himself and taking his time so as not to make himself into too much of a mess. It wouldn't do well to upset his mother, or worse, his grandparents. He didn't imagine that his father would be disappointed in him for the occasional drunken bar brawl but, once more, it was better to lean on the safe side of things.
If he were being honest with himself, Mordecai was in no mood to start any brawls at all. It would probably be expected of him, especially in the grips of heartache, but... his family may not be too keen on the 'heartache' part of it all. Did they view it as a weakness? Doubtful considering the majority of them had mates that they were proud of, just as he had been with his precious little lunatic. Where was she? Was she dead? There was a swell of emotion, deep rooted concern blending with anger and resulting in a hushed grumbling. "For her sake, she'd better be dead." The alternative was a thought he couldn't quite confront yet; the abandonment stung a tad too much. Dead, definitely dead, she had to be.
The demon hardly noticed how busy the bar was becoming or the lack of seating that was becoming available. Sooner rather than later, someone would end up sitting beside him, tucked back in the farthest end of the bar.

The bar was almost full when she arrived. Figured. With her newest hellspawn all grown up and out of the nest, already wooing some unlucky demoness, Seussi had found herself quite alone again. That empty void she'd filled by having another child returned with a bitter sting. Nobody ever wanted to stick around, not her lovers, not her children. She was destined to exist in his horrible plain with a festering wound on her heart that would never heal. Instead, it oozed malcontent, a taint that spread through her veins and to every fibre of her being. All she wanted to do was drink enough to stifle it for a time. Numb it down. Forget that she had ever almost fallen in love ( almost. She had to convince herself of that word). Fortunately for her, and perhaps unfortunately to whoever's sorry a** she would find herself seated next to, there was at least one space left at the bar, and she made a beeline for it, shoving some guy out of the way so that she could slip herself into it before him while shooting him a glare. Once she was there, however, she realized she had no idea what she actually wanted to drink. She cast a glance to her neighbour and whatever he had in front of him. "Hey." She said to him, "Hey you." She snapped her claws to get his attention, "What are you drinking?"

The peacefulness of his pity party was rudely interrupted by the snapping of claws and the voice of an unfamiliar person calling to him. He assumed so anyway, due to the snapping to get his attention, not because his name was 'Hey'. "What. What." The demon quipped back at the woman and gave a huff, glancing down towards his beverage of choice.
"...Bitter self pity," Mordecai grunted and nudge the glass towards her, gesturing for her to take a swig to figure out if she liked it. If she did, she would be pleasant enough company to have sitting beside him on this awful night. He did not typically indulge in self soothing with alcohol... or self soothing at all, to be honest. He had always been of the 'buck up, get the ******** over it' mentality.
Heartbreak was a hell of a beast and it was taking him for the wildest ride of his life so far. An emotional rollercoaster where one moment he very nearly wanted to cry and the next he was imagining the satisfaction of ripping the little lunatic apart as punishment.
"It's not really any one drink in particular," he warned in a quiet grumble. The drink in question was a mixture of multiple types of alcohol, and he had no idea what it was called. He didn't particularly care what it was called. "Got a name, lady?" He'd settle for calling her Lady all night if she didn't provide one and that was fine by him, introductions amongst patrons aiming to drink themselves into a stupor didn't seem necessary.

For a second, she thought maybe he was deaf, or perhaps he was just stupid. How long would it take for him to realize she was talking to him? In reality, it may have only been about 5 seconds before he responded, looked toward her, and finally gave her a reply. Oh. Oh, he had some whole angry-sad-scorned emo thing going on. Bitter self-pity? She couldn't help but smirk when he pushed his drink toward her. " Perfect, just what I needed." She said and reached for the glass to take a swig of the mystery liquid. The taste was unexpectedly terrible, and it burned down her throat and into her stomach. What the ******** was this s**t? "Ugh, bitter is right." She gasped, setting the glass back down on the bar with a pained look. Still, she kept her grip on the glass, and when the bartender finally looked her way, she gestured to it, to the demon beside her, and held up two fingers. She then slid it back toward the sad sack sitting next to her. "Seussi. Seu is fine. Or whatever, I don't care." She said with a sigh. Now who was being a sad sack? "You?"

He made no attempt to hide that he was studying the female as she took the glass and took a full swig rather than a testing sip. This was the only part he was watching her for; the reaction. Mordecai raised a brow at her gasp and the twisting expression on her face. She did not let go of the glass and he half expected her to knock the rest of it back. It would appear his seating partner was not as greedy as he expected. A small smirk shaped the demon's lips, seemingly content that the demoness signaled for two more drinks and returned his glass. He, who was feeling greedy, emptied it just in time for the new refreshments to arrive. "You don't care?" he chuckled darkly and shook his head. No need for that when he had a name to use. "Well Seussi. Seu. Whatever, I don't care... you can call my Mordecai." He paused for a moment as if to consider something but then nodded his head to solidify his answer.

She nodded to the bartender when he handed off two fresh drinks to the pair of demons and then inclined her head toward Mordecai. "You can add it to his tab." She said, with a sweet smile and an evil glint in her eye, before she turned to give the other demon her full attention. She snorted derisively when he parroted her words and rolled her eyes, one of her long red claws tracing the rim of her glass before she finally slid her hand around it and lifted it for a drink. Knowing what the expect now, she did not make the same face as before, though she still had to fight not to shudder at the strong taste of several different hard liquors hitting her tongue all at once and burning its way down her throat. "Alright, Mordy, what's got you all," She gestured up and down at him with her free hand before letting it drop back down to the bartop, "Self-hatred-y?"
