Ruwa had tracked down another lead to another bar in the middle of nowhere. She had heard a number of rumors regarding those who operated mainly at night, with whisperings around what those sorts of kats were. Her mother had told her not to go poking around, but Ruwa was never good at listening to her mother's advice. She had tried to get her fortune told by her great-grandmother, but Daniella had refused as well, telling her she would discover those details as it happened. Apparently there was a man who was the best to speak to about these matters. Someone who might have been able to give her more information regarding these creatures. Ace's travels around Kumpania would make him exactly the sort of person she'd want to buy a drink for. She had been given his name and a general description, but upon walking in the bar she realized that there were a number of dark haired men in the place. Perhaps not the easiest to pick out then. Ruwa moved to the bar and seated herself, tapping her claws along the bartop while trying to figure out what to do next. Going to each and asking if they were Ace wasn't the best idea, as she could easily offend someone in that process. There was a slight sigh that escaped the meanki before she leaned over to order everyone in the place a round. Which would cost her almost everything she had on her, but it was better to get on everyone's good side before she started making a mess of things. The drinks went out, Ruwa smiled widely as a few people toasted in her direction and returned the gesture with her own drink. But then her gaze continued to travel, trying to see if anyone made eye contact for longer than a few moments or stood out from the rest.

The Elder was seated at a table closer to the back, his claws perched around the rim of his glass, gaze trained on the door. He was waiting to see if she'd taken the bait and, as luck would have it, she had. Aaannnnd, there she was. He smiled, leaning back in his seat to observe her next move, he had no intention of approaching. Word traveled fast among the Kumpania and, being one who spent a lot of time traveling between them all, people talked. And they talked to Ace. So it didn't take long for him to catch wind that one of the mortals in the Kumpania was prodding into the old vampire myths, which was harmless enough, until she'd started asking questions that veered toward seeking. He had sewn the seeds long ago among the various families that if questions of that nature arose, Ace was the guy to talk to. Under the guise of being well versed in the old stories and lore, of course. He wasn't about to violate the Masquerade by telling people he was the vamp to see when it came to vamp business. In fact, this safeguard had prevented quite a few messy situations from becoming damaging to the clan. But it hadn't happened it quite some time. He lifted his glass, swirling the contents once, pressing the rim to his lips for a sip. The liquid was dark, too dark for untrained eyes to accurately decipher the contents. The claws of his free hand drummed absently upon the tabletop, waiting, he had endless patience, when you had eternity it was easy to scrounge up. She was searching, even from where he was sitting he could tell, her eyes roving around the room casually, but there was purpose behind her movements. As the bartender passed out drinks the waitress brought Ace his usual, giving him a wink as she set it down "Compliments of the Meanki at the bar. Looks like someone just made friends with the entire place." Ace exhaled sharply through his nose, that was one way to get noticed quick around here. "I think you're right." He chuckled, returning the wink and downing the contents of his first drink which the waitress then took with a giggle, swaying her hips as she wandered off. Ace ignored her. The not so subtle pageantry of flirtation hadn't ever really phased him. He waited until the mortal seeking him began to shift her eyes his way again and took the opportunity to raise his glass, striking blue eyes aimed to lock with hers the moment she finally saw him. It had been some time since he'd played this game, luckily it was second nature at this point.

If the fae she wanted to speak to somehow wasn't here tonight, then Ruwa really didn't know what she was going to do. After all, it wasn't like she could earn that money back easily. In fact, she was pretty certain this would put her search out of action for a good bit longer and the thought of swinging so hard only to miss made her feel exhausted. But her gaze finally caught on to someone who fit the over all look she was supposedly on the lookout for. Dark hair, good looking, etc, etc. Specific things that didn't really mean much more than what could be written on paper, at least to Ruwa, but she returned the smile to him all the same. The difference between this one and the others, beyond the fact he fit the image he was looking for to the letter, was the fact he kept her gaze far longer than the rest. Ruwa wasn't going to learn anything unless she took a chance, so she stood to make her way over. Every step was a calculated act, swaying as she moved in order to appear as effortless as she could. Putting on the character she normally assumed when looking to impress anyone important. Elegance was key, though the Meanki didn't think many would be able to see through the act. "Hello there." There was a little bit of a smile before she looked down at the empty seats around the dark haired man. "Mind if I join you?" Ruwa could only hope that this time, everything would pan out for her.

The Elder watched, waiting to see if she figured it out, and when she did he felt a sense of relief. Thank Grendel, she was a clever one. Sometimes, the dance took all night, at which point he would just take the lead. He had places to be. Tonight didn't feel like that kinda night, and he was grateful, he had plenty on his agenda. Though if things went well here he would likely need to put those plans on hold. As she approached in that calculated Meanki style he had to give it to her, the race knew how to work an approach better than almost any other. Ace smiled warmly, his expression welcoming and not in the least bit guarded. As she spoke he leaned back in his seat and gestured with an arm for her to sit. "Please, domnisoara. Join me." His intensely blue gaze lit with mirth as he moved over a little to allow her space. He usually chose a booth, old habits. "I take it you're the generous host of this recent round of drinks?" He laughed, the sound easy and good natured. "Well, if you're looking to make friends that's one way to go about it. Noroc!" He lifted his glass and took another sip before easing back into the seat, his eyes intently locked upon the mortal beside him. "Though, and correct me if I'm wrong, I have a feeling you're not exactly looking to make 'friends' tonight. In fact, I hear you've been looking for me." Ace's gaze glinted strangely in the low light of the bar but he was quick to smile, masking it behind a kind of warmth. "Well, here I am."

The meanki took the seat as soon as he nodded towards it. Getting rid of Ruwa at this point would be a difficult thing for most fae, but as Ace spoke up further she paused to keep her emotions in check. Apparently Ruwa had finally found who she had been looking for. Which meant that she didn't have to go searching anymore and the money she had just spent wasn't being tossed into a gutter for no reason. Those blue eyes stared at him for a moment before she returned the smile. She was watching him carefully now. Trying to read him as best she could while answering his question. "You're rather difficult to find, moving all around." She took a sip of her own drink before continuing. "I hear you've seen a lot in your travels. Met a lot of different fae all around. I... was wondering if you were willing to share some knowledge regarding some people you might have met." She knew that she was being slightly vague, but it was difficult to come right out and say what stories she was looking for. "They could be entirely just old bedtime stories we've told for a little too long but I couldn't help but notice that all the stories seem to have matching elements. Not common for bedtime stories spread all around." Normally core elements were changed as they passed from mouth to mouth and from generation to generation. "I love a good bedtime story." She laughed lightly, trying to play up the element that she was just looking around for fun. Asking for no reason, as if her seeking on the matter hadn't been dedicated and constant recently. Ruwa really didn't think that anyone would have told him about her, that she had been looking for him or what kind of questions she had been asking. She had little fame to her name beyond that of her direct family's. Her father was an outcast, her grandmother a little bit of a legend, both for their own reasons. Ruwa had done her best to become known, but it was hard to stand on her own with the shadow of a great fortune teller looming over her.
