[SRP] If Ever There Was A Dream {Elune}

This is a solo rp for myself, with Elune and Elun'dris.

Elune snuggled up next to Tokidoki with a misty eyed smile as she watched him sleep. His chest heaved in slow deep breathes as she listened to his song of slumber. Lowering her head down she laid her chin on his front knee, next to his warm face. The chill air stilled in the branches above her. The old oak sheltering them from the elements.

As Elune slipped off to sleep she thought of some of her favorite lyrics. This always helped her to fall asleep. As she silently played notes in her mind, a new song crept in her mind. One familiar yet old and not of her own design. She drifted to sleep pondering the tune.

A twinkle of laughter called her into a dream after a couple of hours of darkness. Here, the wind rustled through summer leaves. The wise oak she lived under, stood tall and appeared younger somehow. As if it might take up root and dance with dozens of hands reaching towards the sun. Elune heard the laughter again, and realized it was her own.

Elune stood there not as a lady grown with a family. She stood there as a small, frail foal. Where others would have siblings and parents to play with, she was utterly alone. A butterfly, blue and gold flitted around Elune. The laugh came again, when the butterfly landed on her nose. The sound almost foreign to this child. She hadn't laughed much as a foal, but dreams had a mind of their own. So there she was, giggling at this small insect.

The oak above her reached arms down, as if protecting her, shielding her. Like a mother watching over it's young. A breeze blew through it's leaves, and whispered: "I will always protect you, so do not wander far." It seemed to say to her, without saying anything at all.

She awoke the next morning, filled with nostalgia. Never was she alone after all. That mighty tree had always been there for her. Yet, there still lay some longing for the family that came before her, that she never knew. She looked up to the great oak, and gave it a silent thank you.

After her dream, she knew that this was no ordinary tree. It is her Great Oak Mother. Elune looked up at it with misty eyes. Her heart singing at the name for her protector. A knotted root lay on her other side, near her and her mate. She had always felt the tree was more than a tree. At least, that's the way it appeared to her.

Even though she had that presence, there still seemed something that called out to her past. The one from before she emerged from her basket, alone. Beneath the canopy of the bark and branch Mother, that replaced the one she never knew.

Elune recalled all the questions Elun'dris, her great granddaughter had asked her. Questions about the family she didn't know, answers she knew not how to seek out. Things she probably should of thought about, but really hadn't. Not until the little curious foal had inquired. Elun'dris had been older and wiser than she knew from such a young age.

The seed placed by that curious foal, had grown, and took root in Elune's mind.
