RULES
    1. Pets won from here will count as one of your event freebies. Remember, you may only win one soquili and one familiar freebie during the event!
    2. You may win up to two pets from this game - one soquili and one familiar.
    3. You can enter for any of the Fates, but they will be rolled in order.
    4. Fill out the form in its entirety. Please don't forget to put your username!
    5. Proxies will not be permitted for this game.
    6. Do not reserve posts! Please only post completed forms and prompt responses.
    7. If you have any questions, please ping me in the #ask-the-staff channel in the shop's Discord server.

HOW TO PLAY

    * There are three Fates. You can enter for all of them, but only win one. This means you can submit a beginning, middle, or end of the story.
    * Each fate has a form to enter for it specifically. Clotho the spinner has the beginning, Lachesis the allotter dispenses the thread of fate and the middle of the story, and Atropos the inflexible cuts the threads of fate for the ending.
    * The story is being told in a round robin style. Which means that the story is being told as if three different people were telling it. Each one giving either a beginning, middle, or end.
    * The Fates will be rolled in order. Take that into consideration when you enter and for who.
    * A list will be compiled for each section, then rolled. The writer of the winning entry will get the Fate associated with it.
    * Each entry should be more than 200 words long but no longer than 500.
    * If they entered for any other part of the story, they will be removed from the list before rolling.
    * Only enter for the portion of the story that is associated with the Fate or Fates you choose.
    * I will post the story with any transitional words between parts, to make the connection work.
    * The list will have all entries in the order posted used as a list to roll the familiars from.. You may opt out in the form if you want no part of these..You will then pick your preferences.
    * Nyx will be rolled from a short list of favorite non-winning entries.
    * If you win somewhere else before these prizes are rolled, DO NOT delete your entry. Simply post that you won elsewhere for a soquili, familiar, or both.

...but as he rounded the bend of trees, he saw that he was not alone at the river. Or rather, in the river. In the middle of the river - it wouldn’t occur to Cleon until later to wonder how it had gotten to such a specifically inconvenient spot - there appeared to be a baby bird. A large baby bird, but a baby bird nonetheless, with soft, golden feathers and a sharp beak from which the cries Cleon heard were resounding. It might be a cute thing, Cleon thought, when it was dry. And quiet.
“Hey,” Cleon called, gruff and short-tempered. “Stop hollering. Your mother will be back soon.” Cleon had no idea if this was true, but it seemed to work - the chick quieted down. He leaned down to drink, but the momentary silence was shattered when the bird wailed again, somehow even louder.
“Stop!”
But the bird didn’t stop. It got louder, fussier, and started splashing around more intensely.
“Get out,” Cleon ordered. He crossed his little arms impatiently. “You can’t be in the river if you’re going to yell.”
Caaaaaaaaaan’t!” the bird wailed. “Help meeeeeeeeeee!
Oh no. No way. Absolutely not. That was not his job. He didn’t know the first thing about kids. Or rivers. Or how to help one out of the other. He tried to ask more questions - where its family was, why it couldn’t get out of the river itself - but answers were not forthcoming.
Cleon should walk away. Leave this stupid bird to its sopping wet fate.
But he hesitated. He looked around, hoping someone - anyone - might arrive and relieve him of having to take this responsibility.
Nobody arrived.
Still the child screamed.
“Fine!” Cleon bellowed. “Just shut up!”
Cleon waded into the water, buffeted by the force of it - it had seemed so calm. He pushed his way through, paddling with all four legs when the water became too deep. He eventually reached the bird, and saw the issue when he ducked under the water: the bird’s leg was crushed painfully between two stones.
Cleon wrenched the rocks apart without too much difficulty - he had a better angle for it, not to mention hands instead of feathers. When he broached the surface, the baby bird clung tightly around his neck, whimpering.
“Th-thank you!! T-take me to the temple, please!”
Temple? What temple?
It was all Cleon could do to keep them afloat in the river, so he just followed the bird’s pointing wing toward the opposite bank of the shore. They were both shivering, and the bird still clung tightly to him; it wasn’t as though it could walk with its leg bent like that, nor could it fly with its soft, downy wings soaked through.
“Which way,” Cleon asked, grouchy over having his perfectly ordinary day having suddenly become much more… defining. The baby bird pointed, and Cleon began his unexpected journey toward the temple, and his new life.

I have won a Soquili & a familiar elsewhere in this event! Please void this entry!

I Turn the Wheel

Rp Blurb/Entry Tell the beginning

Cleon woke up at the theater. Why was he at the theater? There were no beds at the theater, not real ones. How did he get there. He wasn't sure, but he'd often been a plaything of the fates so he decided not to dwell on the experiance.

Climbing out of the pile of costumes he'd been curled up in, Cleon took time to straighten up the area, smoothing fabric and sorting accessories. He ignored his grumbling stomach a few times, figuring the performers didn't deserve the chaos things were in.

Maybe it was his fault, after all. He couldn't remember falling asleep in her. And he didn't indulge in strong drink so he didn't know what could have brought him here.

Finally done he headed out, closing things up behind him. And went looking for something to eat. The river was a good idea. Maybe the apple orchard on it's banks would have some fruit for his meal. And water would be welcome after the dusty costumes he'd been sleeping in.

So he headed towards the sound of water, shivering as he felt the chill of the air. Maybe he should have kept one of those capes that had made such lovely bedding back at the theater.

Cleon grunbles as he reaches the river. "Now what?!" He demanded of the sky.

A chorus of laughter answered. "What's the matter, little lizard?" A voice called.

Cleon looks over and sees Ladon, "Oh! You have an apple!" He calls out. "I thought they were all gone and I'm so hungry."

The snake's head that was holding the golden apple swallows it down with a smirk. "Oh, well . . . sorry you missed them."

Cleon could tell the serpant was anything but sorry. And the river had bits of ice floating on its surface, making him hesitant to venture down for a drink. "I'm HUNGRY!" He calls again to the sky.

Landon looks up with two of its heads, "Who are you yelling at? Do you expect it to rain apples or something?" The heads snicker at the idea.

Huffing, Cleon turns away without answering. How could he explain that the fates liked to play with his life. Trudging on, he deicdes to head to the temple. Maybe he will find food along the way. After all, there might be a few dried berries left on the bushes along the path if he was lucky. And if not, he can at least petition the fates for their favor, instead of the ire he clearly has attracted.

Shearing the Thread of Fate

Rp Blurb/Entry How Does It End

The lizard, humbled, approaches the temple. An empty stomach and a weary soul carries him forward.

Lighting the brazier Cleon prays to the fates. He knows not what caused their attention, but he clearly has it. Mayhap he can offer them his devotion and be granted their favor.

Already fasting, though not by his will, Cleon settles next to the brazier, inhailing the insense spiraling up from the flames. For a moment he thinks he sees the weaver through the smoke, deliniated by the stars. If only he knew how to read the stars, perhaps he could see what the fates had in store for him.

As it was, the smoke made his head light and his vision blur. A trio of ravens seemed to peer at him from the roof of the temple. Ravens made of star-stuff. He had nothing to give them, his own stomach rumbling with it's emptiness.

But he startled back as they winged in, each carrying something in their claws. The first brought a goblet with a swallow of wine still in it. The second brought a branch full of ripe grapes, and the third a loaf of bread. Each dropped their load in front of the poor lizard.

His eyes blurry, Cleon watches as they fly away, diappearing in the smoke.

He just stops himself before he bolts down the food. Looking back at the altar, he blows out his breath. The fates had seen his devotion and sent the ravens, he was sure of it. He must show his gratitude.

Even as his stomach protests, Cleon breaks the bread in half and pulls off a few of the grapes, placing the food upon the altar. There was only a single swallow in the goblet, but he was sure the fates would understand his intent, so he drank the wine, letting it wet his mouth, before placing the goblet next to the grapes and bread on the altar before finally indulging in the small meal still left to him.

Cleon offers the fates his thanks before curling up next to the brazier and letting the flames offer a bit of warmth as he falls asleep.
