I remember a long long long time ago when I first saw my first few Naruto anime episodes... I liked Sasuke a lot more than Naruto or Sakura (I hated Sakura, she was a waste of space and still usually is). and Naruto just...well he talked trash too much. "IMMA BE HOKAGE SOON!" good for you chump, but till then you are just some chump genin/academy student. prove yourself first THEN comes respect. not the other way around.
but then came certain...incidents with Sasuke. it thew EVERYTHING he did into a different light. the guy is a show off. he does everything he does for praise to feed his ego and angst. Honestly...teleporting in the middle of the arena at the chuunin exam? wtf? and before then he was pretty much the golden boy. got everything he wanted from the village (fame, praise, sharingan Kakashi's own personal technique and one on one training for a month in the exam and then (spoiler to american viewers highlight to read)
he ******** BETRAYS THE VERY SAME VILLAGE THAT WORSHIPPED THE GROUND HE WALKED ON. at the drop of a ******** HAT too. took so very LITTLE to cloud this p***k's "judgement" enough to send him running to Orochimaru like he was Jesus ******** Christ. blame the curse seal if you like. but remember Kakashi sealed it with his own seal. and told him the seal agianst evil will work only as strong as his will to keep it working.

so now I like Naruto a lot more. he's the underdog I want to see rise up, smack everyone down who doubted him at being able to do much more than disgrace the name of "ninja". and do so gracefully. but *le sigh* Kishimoto seems to like using him as a comic foil to show off everyone else's talents in stark relief against Naruto's ineptitude and moronic antics.
