For Those About To Rock.....
I got depressed and pissed because my parents talked about moving, again.

So on the car ride home I came up with a few lines. Got home and wrote them down (really typed, but still.)
May 31st was the official date, now that I checked...

My first Poem....

Gone.

Some say Love is the slowest form of Suicide, and I agree.
When loved, you become attached to something.
When gone, you quit. Can you not see?
No longer attached, a part of you is missing.
Gone forever.

A house is the same as a partner.
Something to cherish, make yours, stay with forever.
But all good things come to an end, and moving is like leaving the alter.
Even if you return, you never get that life back, never.

Goodbye to friends, town, life.
My soul, brain, and heart are torn.
For every time I leave, its like a mans fight with his wife.
Made better, but forever scorned.

Its gone forever.
My heart and soul.
Life as I know it is over.
I pay the eternal toll.

No matter what you say, no matter what you do.
It will never be the same day, but its all the same to you.
Make new friends you say, start things over.
I will some day, but then I leave, and its gone forever.

This cycle never stops.
It's like we're always running from the cops.
A new house, a new beginning.
But then the fat lady starts her singing.
And we leave.

Then I am gone. Forever.

...We Salute You.

I have to day, for your first poem, this was really good. The subject was very different and foreign to me since I have only moved once and that was when I was very young. The beat of the poem got off a bit at one part, but it ended up flowing because of the good use of rhyme. Great work! biggrin You should write more poems. 3nodding

I moved from the one home I've really ever known a little over a year ago, and I know first hand that the subject of moving is hard. I'd been told for years it had been a possibility; my parents loved the state of Maine for its beauty and lack of materialism and wanted to get us out of New Jersey, since we lived in a very materialistic town and they wanted us to see what really mattered.

Moving is hard. Even the idea of it makes me want to cringe. It's hard to pack up your belongings and leave things behind.

I've been back to NJ twice since moving, and it's hard. People have changed, and I felt so left out. My best friend and I have really distanced each other, and sometimes I wonder why we're still best friends anymore.

It really feels like the end of the world when you move, especially if you leave someone you love behind. I left the love of my life in NJ, and we haven't spoken in over a year and a half. But you'll learn to move on, meet new people and see new places. It's hard to start again, but you'll manage. It's not all bad- I've made tons of amazing friends, and I'm starting to forgive my parents for making us move.

With time, you'll heal.

Good luck.
