can you move a family from one town to another

i have a family i've been working on and i wanna move them to my new custom nieighborhood is it possible please help

Yep, it is. Some people say it causes problems but I have an entire neighbourhood made up of Sims from the three maxis neighbourhoods.

All you have to do, is move the family, in the house they're living in, into the Houses Bin. Then you can access that house in any other neighbourhood. It's actually really simple to do. The only thing is they will lose all relationships with every Sim they know in the neighbourhood. Or they don't know them anymore, I suppose is more accurate, as the family still shows up on the Family Trees.
