I heard that Closer wasn't actually the meaning it portrays...I can't quite remember. But I heard it in some interview of Trent's.

Closer is not about a woman that does not want him at all, it is about his own hate and self loathing, and disbelief that anyone would want him if all he wants from you is to have sex with you and then leave you and never see you again (not that it would stop me from letting him ******** me like an animal) but he didn't expect it to become the `Frat Kid Anthem` nor did he think people would find it to be anything less then what it was meant to be, a hateful self attack.

And he says he believes in love, and thinks it's a cool thing.
