Sock Pattern?

Ok, I wanna start knitting socks, but I can't find a pattern I like.
I've seen patterns before that I liked, but can't find it now.
Can anyone point me towards a pattern that's DPN, toe-up and starts with a knitted square, picking up stitches?

Knitting socks really isn't hard at all. If you want to practice before making an actual sock, you could try Knitty's Fuzzy Feet - they're slipper socks, but they're made top-down. They're nice because they give you good practice using dpns, but in a larger size so they're easier to hold onto. smile

Knitty also just ran a feature about the Universal Toe-Up Sock, which might be more what you're looking for. smile

Any pair you make can be toe-up or cuff-down, and if you do toe-up you can easily sub one beginning for another. Here's a list of methods for heels and toes in both directions:
