have any of you ever heard of Nalbinding?

it's like 4000 year's older than knitting and is done with one needle, kind of like a tapestry needle.
sadly it is not very well known at all, I got a book about it along with a bone needle, but it's not easy for me to lean thing's from picture's in book's...and these picture's and not very good at all.
so I was wondering if any of you know how, or have even heard of this. @.@

I've never heard of it, and our public libraries don't have anything on it. If its that old, you're probably lucky to have found the one book.

I came across this page while looking up stuff for bobbin lace. It's the only page I've seen that gives a tutorial. Luckily, I found it interesting enough to bookmark, so here ya go.

If there's a chapter of the SCA near you, check them for Nalbinders! That's how I'm learning smile

I have done this before, but found it extremely tedious, so I gave it up. I do, however, love the fact that if you wear a hole in it, it doesn't ravel very quickly.

my friend taught mehow todo this, all I've done is made a bag, lol.

Its origiinally Viking I believe. I hate having to pull all the yarn through each stitch- and I hate joining. I have a friend who felts the ends together but I coan't do that so I tie them, lol
