Shikalee mofoslotmachine Shikalee Captain Verd Shikalee As for that statue, no one carves a 500 foot statue of nobody. No, they carve statues of dudes fighting their ultimo hero. I'm saying his opponent had a name. An identity. A basis, at least. Or even a source of myth. But he isn't "some guy." He is "some guy" to the current characters (and therefore us), because he's long dead and I doubt it really matters. The Hokage are long dead, yet they seem to matter. I think that guy had a resemblance to Sasuke. To learn more about him may reflect some of his future. Kishimoto does s**t like that all the time and it always falls under our noses because people always think it's just "some guy." Because the Hokage were important to the history of Konoha. Could you give me any other examples of Kishimoto "do[ing] s**t like that"?

You know what? I just re-read that chapter, and uh Juuyonbi, I take back what I said and agree with you.
I doubt he'll come up later in the series, but when Kakashi finds Naruto after he's been defeated, he monologues about how Naruto and Sasuke are alot like Shodaime and his rock homeboy. Maybe they were team mates or something.

Kakashi also says that Naruto and Sasuke are remarkably like them...probably because the other guy betrayed Konoha and Shodaime.

Naruto fighting Sasuke in the same place those two fought. Kishimoto seems to like drawing parallels like that. Could mean more, though. Hm.

Captain Verd Juuyonbi_No_Peko_=3 Captain Verd You As powerful as Yamato I guess? even more probably =/ I think you mean "hanging". I suppose it's hard to understand me if english isn't your first language. So let's see, how can I be more concise? We don't know how strong Shodaime was, so we don't know how strong is opponent was. He must have been strong, yes, but probably not enough that he would be important to the story. Also, if he didn't mention his name, why does that mean he's automatically important and will be explained later? They don't tell you the names of every single one of Konohamaru's classmates, but that doesn't mean he's going to introduce them all as key elements to the story later. I said probably, you dont seem to get what that means dont you. dont we see him fight against Sandaime? yes, he was a zombie at the time, probably his abilities werent as powerful. That's because Konohamaru's classmates weren't fighting Shodaime or another important character... Main Entry: prob·a·bly Pronunciation: 'prä-b&-blE, 'prä(b)-blE Function: adverb : insofar as seems reasonably true, factual, or to be expected : without much doubt Probably means he could still be just as powerful as Yamato. If you don't want to leave room open for doubt, then don't use probably. I hate when people do that =/, they're just stating obvious stuff >.>---

Shikalee What was the point of the damn dictionary entry? Probably is not 100%. >_> The point was that saying probably and absolutely at the same time doesn't make any sense. Unfortunately, quoting dictionary terms is something we have to do quite often here.
