For this fun and quirky RPG, the Contact Mode (via WiFi ONLY) is certainly much quirkier. With the people on your Friends List, make the briefest amount of "contact". Then you'll be disconnected. What do you do next? Go into Single Player and you'll find a new island on your globe: WiFisland.
Dock there and what do you find? The people you have successfully made contact with have become NPCs, and vice-versa for you to them! The NPCs will give advice, make small talk, and they will either level you up or give you some rare items.
