The one that bothers me is "innit?". This might be peculiar to Britain, but many, many people use it instead of "isn't it?" It just sounds horrible. sweatdrop

I was interested to see the discussion of the Japanese word "chu" here. I used to work in Japan, and whilst my Japanese is far from perfect, I might be able to add something to the discussion. I've heard chu used in all the instances mentioned, more or less, but when it's used to mean a kiss/the noise made when kissing, it's more "chuu" with a long "u" sound like you're puckering up for a kiss! xd "Chuu", like many other simple sounds in Japanese, has lots of different definitions depending on what the kanji (Chinese character, but I'm sure you all know that, of course!) it refers to is. Japanese can sometimes be very difficult to decipher if you can't see the kanji the word refers to! sweatdrop

Here I thought a Chu was a strange gell like creature coming in many diferent colors. I also thought that when you drink the jelly of a Red Chu it would heal your wounds and if you drink the jelly of Green Chus it restores your magic...

Ah well.... Maybe I'm wrong....

I like the word "chu". I think it's cute! I've never really seen any other purpose for it than to be cute or a kissy sound.

Um, "chu" is the sound of a japanese kiss and it doesn't bother me. ^_^
I think it's an adorable word.
