I wrote this on Jan. 25th. It's dedicated to my dog, Princess, who I have to give away because I'm moving. She did not die, by the way.

I shall not fear the things to come.
For my journey has just begun.
In my heart, she shall lie,
Until the day my death arrives.
But even then, I will remember,
The times we had, we shared together.
Dead or alive, she is my friend,
For our time together has come to end.

Our time has come to separate
My feelings and needs are much too late.
For every time this date arrive
I will shed some tears, and my tears will cry.

Through this new life, with her gone,
I need to understand I have the strength to be strong.
Though I know it will be tough,
I know that life is life and life is rough.

So tis’ time to say my sweet goodbye,
She shall know the place where she lie.
The heart holds more than you can remember,
But I promise you, Princess, I will remember you forever.

A friend is a soul dwelling in two bodies,
Without you, half of my soul is missing.
But since I’m in your heart and you’re in mine,
Then our souls shall stay together through the worlds cruel time.
