I completely agree - I'm totally shocked to hear that a teacher, not just any teacher, but an ENGLISH teacher, would encourage that! That's completely disgusting. And, for that matter... say, for example, you were one of the kids who doesn't spell well. Well, I guess you'd be off the hook to have to learn, wouldn't it?
