As long as they're separate from the actual words and sentence, I'm fine. xd It can really bug me when a smiley interferes with a word.
ex. Hello^^
I wouldn't apply this to typos though. We all experience them sometimes. sweatdrop

Body language is a powerful means of communicating, but there's no decent way of communicating gestures and facial expressions concisely using only words. Emoticons are an adequate attempt at conveying those.
