do they ever replace the departed captains?

wow no one listens to the show there are two ways to become a captain

1. Beat a Captain in a battle 1 on 1

2. the captain falls in battle and vice captain becomes captain

i just wonder if any of you are real bleach fans.... 0.o

weren't there three ways? can't remeber gotta recheck TousenVSKenpachi battle.
also I think the vice capitans are filling in for those who left (exept Hinamori of course). actually in chapter 180 of the manga Shuuhei tells Komamura that he had not thuoght being a capitan was so tiring

crap I misspelled thought. anyway I just checked and there are 3 ways:
1. defeat/kill the previous capitain with at least 200 witnesses
2. pass the test under tha supervision of at lest three capitains, including the head commander
3. to get a referral from at least 6 capitains, and the approval of three of the other 7

In a flash back during one of the episodes, I think where Ikkaku first shows his bankai, him and Yumichika sitting and hanging out, Yumichika asks him why he doesn't ask to become one of the new captains after the three left. Ikkaku said he doesn't want anyone else to know about about his bankai because he wants to stay in the same division as Zaraki, which he reaveals the reason for that in another flash back. Also Urahara used to be the 12th Division captain then was replased by Kurotsuchi.

i was just wondering if they ever end up adding new captains since the three left? if so are they replaced by present characters or do they introduce new ones.

All I know is that they do get a new third division captain, and he's a new character. *Shrug.*

they added fillers for a new captain but it ended up being a waste of time since he just died at the end
