Grammar question - "different"

	Pardon me if this is a stupid question, but which of these is correct: "different to" or "different than"? I've seen and heard both of them used and I have no idea which one is grammatically correct.

	I'm not sure about "different to," but "different than" is incorrect. It should be "different from."

	I believe neither is correct; It's "different from," though I could be wrong.

	Example Although his pen was different from mine. Example I had a different preference. Both are correct, except the "different than" one. That should be "different from". Yes, the first example is a dependant clause. So sue me. stare
