This may seem a bit silly, but after my searching, I'm still a bit fuzzy about who to contact in order to join my local group. Would it be the Gold Key officer? Or someone else? I would be with Atenveldt, and I know they practice in one of the parks somewhere^^; Should I just go there..?

Ahhh... Gold key confuses me. I don't know about anywhere else, but here, both the Seneschal and the Chatelaine are represented by a gold key, just in different placements with different background colors. You want the Chatelaine. That would be the official "welcomer" of the group. They should be able to tell you who's who, what groups meet when, and have access to loaner garb if it's needed. Otherwise, the practice idea is good too. Always a great way to meet people.
