Downloads questions

1. If I rename the stuff I download, will it still work? I think there are some stuff in the game that will not work if you rename it like CAS_auto_bg but is it the same with downloads?

2. My downloads folder has files like 6fd05f8aa0a78be3dfb1cee476409c10.package and I have no clue what it is >.<" How can I work out what it is? (I think I may have found out what the files are, but in case next time it isn't so easy.)

3. How do the SIMS2PACK Files work? Do you just install it or do you have to keep it in your downloads folder? I saw some PACKAGE Files with the same date. Do PACKAGE Files come out of the SIMS2PACK Files?

2.It should tell you in-game if you have the pop up that comes with Nightlife

I wouldn't tamper with anything if I were you.

Yep,hard.

Dont know about the folders, but it won't screw up your game if you try.
EDIT: Seems that the folders work. Played with the mods in folder for while, din't broke my game.

Unfortunately having multiple folders inside your Downloads folder only works if you have Nightlife or a later expansion pack installed.

1. You SHOULD be able to rename your downloaded files if they just have random numbers and letters as their name. I have made files and renamed them so I can upload them and they still work in other people's games.

2. Download and use the Sims2Pack Clean Installer from MTS2. Tell it to scan your downloads folder and it will list everything in there and tell you whether it is clothing, makeup, a skintone, item recolour or hack. It can't tell you exactly but it will give you an idea as to what the file is.

3. Sims2pack files DO NOT have to be kept in your downloads folder. They are like MAXIS/EA's own version of zip or rar files. Simply double click one and it unpacks all of its contents into the downloads folder as .package files. You can delete the Sim2pack file after you have installed it.
