Ok this has been bothering me for awhile do you have to be a certain age to have a memory put in the Pensive? Because why couldn't, in the 4th book, they just extract the memory from Harry about how Cedric died...and they would have noticed if he (Harry) had messed with the memory because of in the 6th book we find it easy to notice the difference

because the minisry of magic was stupid and stubborn. i mean, they didn't believe harry when they told them. and plus fudge didn't want it to be true; he didn't want to deal with everything that would be going on if it happened. so he was avoiding truth as much as possible.
