I just wanna break you down so badly.

How does the cow plant work? I know it's supposed to eat people but could someone please tell me about it.
I have a cow plant, but it just sits there moving its leaves and tail...

If you want it to eat someone then never use the "Feed" option. After a while the cow plant will eventually stick out a piece of cake on its tongue to lure in some "food", aka a Sim. You can then direct a Sim to "Take Cake" and when they attempt the cow plant will eat them. Be aware that this action can autonomously be performed by Sims so if you stick it in your garden then it may eat random passers by that are tempted by the cake.
Any surviving Sims can then "Milk" the cow plant and drink it. It has the same effect as the Elixer of Life, making them three days younger. This also fulfils the want to "Drink Sim" providing its the correct Sim that was eaten.

The Cow Plant provides something like the Elixr of Life, but I didn't know about the cake thing. Now I really want University!
