how do i achieve the golden anniversery?

ive had a sim couple together since they were teenagers and now theyre old and married. i tried throwing the anniversary party but nothing happened.
was there something im supposed to do at the party?

You say you tried throwing the party. Does that mean you got the option on the phone for "Throw Party...">"Anniversary" but nothing happened when you used it or that the anniversary party option never showed up?

the option showed up, and everyone came but
the aspiration didnt go platinum.
and the party was good but it didnt do anyhting

I dunno if I'm gonna sound stupid asking the obvious but was reaching a golden anniversary either of your sims lifetime wants?

lol yeah just one, not both

Hmm, I dunno then. I always thought that Sims could only throw Anniversaries when they were elders but I remember somebody saying a while back that they could do it while they were adults. I don't know why throwing the party didn't fullfil the want.

Both of them must be 50 days old before they can have a Golden Aniversary.
I think you made the silver anniversary, not the golden.
