Just recently my boyfriend's account was hacked into by Market_Place_Mod. He claims and poses to be a moderator. So everyone be careful. DO NOT GIVE OUT YOUR PASSWORDS TO ANYONE!

The PM looked a little something like this.

This is not his main account. It is one of his side accounts that he uses. His true identification still remains a mystery.

For those of you who are new to this site (like my boyfriend) please do not be as foolish as he was and give out your information.

Edit: I have done a little research on this, and found that the hacker made a slight mistake. Although, this is only a conclusion on my part. After the hacker did what he did, I decided to check out the trade transactions that took place today. Only to find that the hacker didn't know that you're not suppose to send the trade to your one of your main accounts. Here I found out he did the trade to a name of WhiteGangsterBoi. I've checked his profile, and it seems he has only one friend. Well, I've checked that account as well and found it to be more developed. So I'm not quite sure if thats his real main account or if its really just someone else. What do you think?

Only a complete idiot would fall for that.

I'm tempted to "fall" for one of those. I'll type my password as:

Password: Hackersareidots
Confirm Password: Yestheyare

Or something of that nature...

Or maybe:

What can I say? I like to aggravate people.

Doesn't anyone notice that "receive" was spelled incorrectly? I know I did.

Of course we know. But for a new member that knows nothing about the site (and yes, I get onto his case for lack of commonsense and falling for such foolishness). Although, it does shock me that people are gullible enough to do something like that. Niccea Majeare, I would probably do the same exact thing.

I noticed that as well. Not only that, but I noticed something else. A moderator's message sounds nothing like that. You can tell its very nonbusiness like. Not only that but we all know, as the Gaian admins have stated before, that they do not ask for our passwords in messages, e-mails, etc. You would think someone would have commonsense to know better in the first place. rolleyes

Hm...thanks for the warning.

I give my password to no one. I don't even save it on the computer. And according to the rules, the admins will never ask for your personal info like that. So there.

He also misspelled "something" towards the end. I noticed a post on a friend's profile from someone else, saying that person had been hacked. I wonder if it's the same person who committed this act of indecency.

'Ban' only has one n.

'Banned' has two.

He spelled 'permanent-bann' incorrectly.

Also, this - 'Thank You For Your Time to Read This' - sounds awkward. It should be 'Thank you for taking time to read this.'

Yet, as many times as he has been reported, why isn't his account yet banned? Can anyone explain that to me? Because after that one is banned, we have to ban his other account which he has. I'm guessing he has like 3 or 4 accounts. I only know of 2 of them. That one and his WhiteGangsterBoi account. neutral

A lot of it was spelled incorrectly. And since when did admins start putting huge graphics in their messages? No offense, but your boyfriend isn't very smart.

None taken. When it comes to computers, he just doesn't seem to have the common sense. I mean, he isn't a complete idiot, but this is his first time on Gaia. It was the first or second day that he was on Gaia trying to figure out the ropes when the hacker messaged him. So he could use a little break. He really didn't know because he hasn't really any experience on Gaia. sweatdrop

All the same, they had that message (until today) at the top of the PM reply page that tells you not to give your password to anyone. Plus, isn't that usually a given on most major websites: never give your account info to anyone who asks for it by messaging you in any way? Also, admins wouldn't add giant graphics to their messages; they don't want to inconvienience their users by making their browsers load huge banners.

Yes, you've got to admit, it does have some misspelled words that would give the thief away, but (not to be rude) how does this relate to grammar?
