Which Do You prefer Dracula the Book Or Dracula the Movie??
PostPosted: Wed Aug 08, 2007 2:24 am
I prefer the book, as the the case with all book-to-movie movies I've seen.
The movie was pretty good though! I really liked it.

Which movie? There are 100's based loosely on the book.

I very much enjoyed the Brom Stoker novel, "Dracula", but in order to compare it to a film, you'll have to say which one. As Rellik said, there are many films. I know of at least 5 major Hollywood productions of the book from the last 20 years alone.

Dracula is the single most remade story in cinematic history. Yep. I read it somewhere.

Still I've managed to neither read it or see a single version.

Most remade novel. Otherwise correct. The term "story" could also include plays (can you even fathom how many adaptations of "Romeo and Juliet" there must be?), fables/folk-tales, and histories.

Crosses: Nifty to look at, but not necessary for titling threads.

I liked the original novel by Stoker very much, though I have never seen any of the films, which includes the one with Bela Lugosi and the one directed by Wes Craven.

I like the book the best because it gives you more detail to everything better than the book.

The book was quite nifty, I thought.

Out of the seven zillion and twelve Dracula movies, I've only seen one, and it was the original one with Bela Lugosi - which, despite the fact that there was a bat on a stick....I enjoyed as well.

But the book was better. I'm more of a book-type, anyway.

I'm a Dracula fanatic, so comparing all movies I've seen {or atleast most} to the book alone, I'd call it a tie.

If you haven't "experienced" both, you really can't say which one you prefer because there is nothing to compare it with.

I read the first post and thought *which movie?*. I like the origional movie out of all the 1.3 X 1032 of them made , but would probably have to say I enjoyed the book more....by a slight margain.

Lol, it was directed at the OP, but never the less, I like that one, except for Keanu Reeves looking like he's about to burst into 'WYLD STALLYNS RULE!' at several points in the film.

The book. I've been on a wild goose chase for a good dracula movie, none of them seem to reach my expectations (or even come close). I read the abriged version of the book in 1st or 2nd grade (so it wasn't able to sink in very well, since it was so high over my reading level), but I recently got the full length book which I'm going to read once I finish "twilight" and Terry Pratchett's "Mascarade"
