How does one properly hide ends in a crocheted granny square?

I usually crochet them in while I'm making it. sweatdrop Otherwise put the yarn on a needle and pull the yarn thru the parts where the second round touches the first round in the corners.

I don't think I'm being very clear. If I were there, it'd take all of 2 seconds to show you. sweatdrop

Lay the end down along the bottom of the row and crochet over it (make sure the bottom loops cover the end). Then cut the tail off smile

I'm sorry, I really wasn't clear. I change colors every other round, and granny squares are double crochet's grouped together.

What I'd do is when you reach the point where you're about to change color, slip knot the new color onto the old color, but before you start making more tails, weave the loose end into the round you just finished with either a yarn needle or your hook.

Weave them in so they're not super visible
