Make more hats.

Or a matching scarf.

Plushies, cell phone/ipod cozies, pencil pouches, arm warmers, wrist bands, water-bottle bands (something so that you know which one is yours, or you have something to hold it by if its cold) reusable coffee cup sleeves, headbands.... Anything small, really.

Knit/Crochet (Now some of these might be better in crochet, and I starred those.)

*scrunchies, *spiral keychains, *play balls, play squares, cat toys, *flowers or leaves to decorate jeans/backpacks, bookmarks, a striped hat/scarf, catnip toys, tea cosies, cellphone/ipod cases, christmas tree ornaments, combine them for a fair isle hat, fingerless gloves, headbands, dishclothes, bath scrubbies, potholders, patchwork pillows, *granny squares, slippers, a sweater for a teddy bear

Other things:

finger weaving
macrame bracelets
cat toys
pom poms
tassels
fringed trim for a jacket or scarf
yarn embroidery
tying up sibling and small animals
cut the yarn into small pieces and use it to stuff small toys
take it to a yarn swap

tying up sibling and small animals

Best suggestion i've heard yet. 3nodding Though i would suggest turning it into I-cord first, its a bit sturdier. 3nodding

Another idea i had was... Do you know those little voodoo babies? You could make something like that.

either that or just wind the yarn into balls of the right shapes. When i do them, i normally make the small ones, and i do the head and then stick a toothpick in it, and cut two more in half. Use the 4 halves to do arms and legs, wind the yarn around the body toothpick to hold it in place, and then wrap the yarn to do the body.

Knit an ipod cord cozy, it's really fun. Ipod socks are everywhere, and there are some ipod earmuffs too, but how many have actually knittd a cozy for their headphone cord?

stripey wrist warmers to go with all 3 hats!

for patterns look at: One Skein, One Skein Wonders and Last minute gifts.

all three books are usually at borders/b&n and they all have some good patterns in them.

you can also make some fun baby stuff with your remaining yarn if you know anyone with a baby.

I already have a striped hat pattern. I already did 8 of them with other scraps that I had. *cringes at thought of doing hat pattern again*

You could use them for the mystery projects.
