Ok, this one stumps me.

I have a pattern that says:

work to 2nd marker. Wrap next stitch and turn. Work back to 2st marker. Wrap next stitch and turn. Work back to wrapped stitch after second marker, knitting the wrapped stitch together with its wrap. Wrap next stitch and turn.

What the heck is this "Wrap stitch"?! I cannot for the life of me find it in a book

It's not a Yarn Over - at least not that I can tell. I can't keep a yarn over on the needles if I'm turning. I understand the concept of the shaping - I'm slowly working stitches together to create a collar that is fat in the middle and skinny on the outside.

But what the heck is a wrap stitch that creates both a stitch and a wrap?!!

HELP!

Hope this helps. I found it on some random site. I think it applies because it sounds like you're doing short row shaping.

WRAP STITCH
A wrap stitch is used to eliminate the hole created when using the short row shaping method. Work to the position on the row indicated in the pattern, wrap the next st (by slipping next st onto right needle, bringing yarn to front of work between needles and then slipping same st back onto left needle – on foll rows, K tog the loop and the wrapped st) and turn, cont from pattern.

Found this one too...

Wrapping a stitch when you are on a knit row:
Step 1. Work up to the stitch to be "wrapped",
Step 2. Slip the next stitch with yarn held to the back of work,
Step 3. Bring yarn to front and turn work to other side,
Step 4. Slip same stitch with yarn held to back of work,
Step 5. Slip next stitch with yarn held to front of work.

Wrapping a stitch when you are on a purl row:
Step 1. work up to the stitch to be "wrapped",
Step 2. slip the next stitch with yarn held to the front of work,
Step 3. bring yarn to back and turn work to the other side,
Step 4. slip same stitch with yarn held to the front of work,
Step 5. slip next stitch with yarn held to back of work.

Silvers sock class has a tutorial on short row heels, and it has pictures. You could try to find that and see if it makes more sense.

Ahhh... short rows.

I'm used to patterns that give me the uxury of saying "start short row shaping here" >.<

I'm not that good at short rows, but I have my collar done now.

Thanks, guys!
