Contest Ideas

Right, in my quest, people aren't really coming and/or donating, so I'm thinking about doing a contest, but I want to do something original.
Any ideas would be much loved! mrgreen

Hmm...well, I've tried a few contests in my quest thread, and the only one that I ever had any luck with was a bumping contest xD

Ok, this is a VERY rough draft but hows this for an idea...

It looks like the total you are questing for is 716k correct?

how about a top bumper contest where the winner wins a portion of the donations?

How about the closer you are to your goal the higher the split? (Not too high otherwise whats the point in gathering donations right?)

like if you were to lets say get meet your goal 716,000 you were to award 20% of that to the top bumper, 143,200

that would still net you 572,800 this is just an example of course, but I think the idea is sound.

Since the % of the prize is higher based on how close you are to your goal and the closer you are to your goal the more you have to give away it should pull in more donators (hopefully) and bumpers for an attempt to win (again hopefully).

Granted I don't spend much time in the forums but I haven't seen this around before

How about a favored anime/manga character battle. WHere people will vote for who wins. The characters will be represented by chosen/volunteered gaians and will figure how the battle will go. There will be a betting system also. The voting system will be a private poll.

original...and you are questing? hm...I personally hate higher bumping contess it makes a thread disorganised and such...I think it is best that you put up for grabs that isn't all that expensive but everyone wants. To enter to get that item(s) you use the entry free of someting cheap....like I dunno casino tickets if you find them worthless put them up for grabs because there are always people who want those tickets. The important thing is you have "1000" don't auction them or raffle them off at 5000 don't exceed a 1k profit, other wise it will be worthless and a waste of time for the people who enter and will cause trouble.

Another thing you can do maybe is a dono-domo. Its a game of donation and giving back, that I've wanted to test out. Maybe you can test it out for me. Here's the deal. Have people donate you their "junk" to you, this seriously includes garbage, flowers, and bugs. At the same time you collect these items yourself. After a certain time/amount, you try to sell these items off. you see your net gain from all this "garbage" keep say 50% or more and split the left overs with the people who donated to you. That way you've gain some gold and they in turn get something too for helping you.

Beyond my front page, my quest thread is virtually nothing but bumps anyway xD (or me talking to myself, which I also consider bumps)
