Born on January twenty third 1899 in New York city New York to a prominent New York family as Humphrey Deforest Bogart. Though affectionately he was known as Boggy to those who knew him personally. He emerged from a minor theatrical career in the 1920s to become one of Hollywood's most distinctive men.

Beginning with his first roll in the 1930 movie "Up the River" which was his earliest movie supposedly portrayed a gritty criminal characters with connections.

With his popularity booming around the era of the 40s and 50s with some of his milestones master peaces being "The Maltese Falcon" (1941), "Casablanca" (1942) and his Oscar-winning "The African Queen" (1951). Having seventy eight pictures credited to his near life's work of appearing in pictures.

Even so long after his death in January fourteenth 1957 people still speak of his movies as though time had not moved ahead at all. So here is too one of the greatest actors of all time.
