lolita help?

i am new here, but i would like to ask for a bit of help.

i am a newbie to the japanese fashion style of lolita, and i would like to be able to make most of my things, as i am very hard to fit, and i am very low on money. does any one that knows the style know of anywhere to get free or cheap patterns that could go with that theme? i can change things, but i am in need of the basic pattern pieces.

Also, search for "lolita" in the guilds here on Gaia and browse through those guilds. A couple of them have sewing subforums and may have tutorials and advice posted up there. In particular, this sticky in the Lolita Society is pretty useful:

What kinds of loli are you wanting? Sweeter? Gothic? Punk? Casual? Hime? Do you want skirts, jumpskirts? cutsews, blouses?

arrow The lolita handbook. Super useful, including the style guide with pictures, so you can classify what kind of lolita you want.

You can also try the Fashion and Style subforum. There are a few threads and I recall them having a good amount of links.
