How to for October: To Make a Talisman or Charm Bag
Each month we would like to share a simple "How to" with you. If you have a "How to" which you enjoyed, or that you would like to share with everyone, please send it to one of the Crew for consideration.

You will need:

* Your Preferred Material (i.e- leather, felt, silk etc) at least 12inches (30cms) square
* length of cord approx 1 yard (1 metre) long
* Awl or other implement to make holes
* Circular template (about side plate size)
* Crystals, Charms, Symbols etc.

Method:

Cut out a circle from the material using the template.
Make holes at regular intervals around the edge of the material approx 1 inch (2.5 cms) from the edge, or in proportion to the size of your circle.

Thread the cord through the holes and pull into a pouch shape.
You may wish at this point to think of the significance of the baf as a container for that which will change your life.
If you wish, you can make a suitable dedication.

Place your objects inside and pull the cord tight.
Wrap the cord around the top and tie it securely.

Sit quietly holding your bad. think of all the symbolism and energies that you have pul into the bag.

Creative Art of the Month:

Life`s Perfections
******************

It's so difficult to find the unimpaired breeze,
One flowing not too rough nor mild but with ease
Conveying a fragrance of celestial and earthly scents,
And swaying misty clouds about the firmament

It's so difficult to discover the flawless sky,
One ever so deep of blue, gently bright to the eye,
Exhibiting a message of susceptibility
With wild birds sailing with liberty

It's so demanding to ascertain a faultless night,
A night of warm, and hushed under the moonlight
An eve bearing an ambiance of solitude,
A time of coming to close to a spiritual mood..

Additionally, no perfection's so demanding to locate
Nor is it more treasured in our mortal state,
Then to simply comprehend
A truly dear and loyal friend.

Pagan Word of the Month:

Beltane:
A major fertility festival, it used to be traditional for the unattached (single men and women) to dress in green to signify that they were avaliable and seking a partner. These young people would then spend the night in the woods. Any child born of such a union was considered especially blessed and to bring good fortune to the village. As a result both mother and child would be cared for by everyone. It is thought that one of the reasons why it is considered unlucky to bring May blossom into the house is because this would have indicated an unsuccessful night! It is just as likely that the flowers would have given away the fact that the people of the house followed the Old Gods.
When the hawthorn is in blossom go and see out a bush and, if you can, lie down under it and meditate on the festival and its meaning. Visualize the Goddess as Mother and the Horned God as her Consort, for this is the time of their marriage. Gather enough flowers to weave into a circlet, otherwise use the circlet to decorate your home for the festival. If you have an image of the Goddess in your home it is nice to also create a smaller circlet for this.

*Gie thanks for the gifts of the Goddess, lest she decide to take them back - old saying.

Reminders:

The next Newsletter will be better!

Check out all the new things in the Guild!

If you would like to submit articles, poems, spells or other things for the Newsletter, please contact MidnightLetter or HiddenBeliefs! Also, while it is fun to just read what you are sent, remember, the guild is only as good as you make it, and the same goes for the newsletters. You can't let other people do everything for you. Part of being Wiccan is learning to work in groups, learning to take part in what's going on. So please submit material, both to the guild and the newsletter. Otherwise, the Crew might get burned out.. and then everything stops. We don't want that. You don't want that. So get active and start posting things! Thanks.
