If Ausi knew what she was feeling then maybe she wouldn’t have snapped at him like that, maybe if he had been truthful with her then maybe she wouldn’t have left him all alone. He didn’t come home that night but she wasn’t worried, he was probably off with some other female. Or at last that’s what Ausi thought was going on.

Why else would he act the way he did? Why else would he be so cold to her after all of this time? Was he tired of her already, would this stupid relationship even work any more- she didn’t know, all she knew is that she was very hurt, so hurt in fact… that she left her cubs with her father and went away fro a while.

Alone in the pride.

She needed to think about things, she needed to clear the waters of all of her anger and discontent.

But, what was going on? Was her mate really tired of her? She felt her heart sink.

Ivie was trying to find food. She was growing desperate now, especially since her cubs were up and about. She needed to start weaning them but to do that she needed meat. So, with this desire in mind she had slipped deeper into the lands than perhaps she had wanted.

It was, with a mixture of feelings, that she saw Ausi. It saddened her to see the lioness. Ausi could have been a wonderful friend if fate hadn't decided to put them against each other.

However, today something was different about Ausi. She didn't look as happy as she had last time. Was somethign wrong? Seeing the sadness, Ivie was compelled to go and see if she could cheer her up. Fedha might be with this one but Ivie couldn't just walk on by someone who was upset.

"Ausi?" She called hesitantly. "Are you...okay?"

“Ivie.”

Ausi smiled some and padded a bit closer to her, frowning. Her front paws slid close together as she sat down and sighed. Ausi looked a mess and felt like one too.

Her eyes narrowed softly as she spoke out to her friend.

“I’m just so hurt; I don’t know how to deal with it. My mate is acting loony, distant and isn’t talking to me really, not like how he use to, I feel like he is hiding something, I know he is, I can feel it. I know him, everything about that damn boy, I know when he is being false with me.”

Her insides turned as she gazed at her friend with worried eyes.

“What if he doesn’t love me anymore? What if it’s another female? I couldn’t handle that kind of news, I would just… I don’t know.”

Her ears pinned backwards, frowning now as she sighed and felt tears swell within her soft blue eyes.

“Our cubs, our home, and our life together, I feel it shattering now.”

"Ausi..." Ivie's ears drooped and the shame that swept over her emanated in her aura. Her fore paws shook and her lower jaw trembled as she sought to find words of comfort. In the back of her mind, Ausi had always been present, that good side trying to persuade her that the path she was taking was wrong. She had tried to do the right thing, she'd even gone with another male to try and keep herself from wanting him.

But like Ausi, that grumpy male had something that captivated her. No matter how much he yelled at her and no matter how much she wanted to hate him...she just couldn't.

But now, listening to Ausi, this broken female who had been so joyful and full of life. How could she? How could she have hurt someone so?

Her head slung low between her shoulders and she gazed intently at her paws, wishing to say something to her to make it all better.

What was she thinking?

She could tell the truth of course! She'd all but thrown herself at Fedha and he had rejected her. Yes he had returned later to apologise but nothing had happened. He had simply left and her heart had gone with him.

"I'm sure that's not the case Ausi. He has a family with you." Tears welled in her eyes. She loved her own cubs dearly but they were not Fedha's. No matter how much she pretended. They would always be Dharba's.

"Maybe...maybe you should talk to him? I don't have much experience with males, but I don't think they like talking about their emotions much."

“I did try. I tried until I knew for sure that he was being false.”

Ausi’s eyes narrowed as she gazed upon the other female rather darkly. Why was she holding herself like that? Why did she have a look if guilt upon her face. She smelt different too, and looked a bit off. Something wasn’t right. Ausi’s claws softly ran against the sand as she spoke out again, eyes narrowing at Ivie.

Something wasn’t right here.

“So we got into a fight and I left, I left all my children with my father and then I ran like hell. I had to get away-- Fedha, he isn’t right.”

Her muzzle moved into a rather dark, cheeky frown as she flashed her fangs slightly. This didn’t seem right! WHY was she acting that way, why did she have the faint smell of life upon her, why was she being so upset?

Ivie, oh she looked to be red handed in Ausi’s mind.

“Ivie...”

"Oh Ausi." Ivie had never been good at hiding her emotions. Her bottom jaw was trembling and her eyes were glossed with sadness and shame. There was a strange tightness in her chest that hurt her and words seemed to come with difficulty.

She opened her mouth to speak and found her throat terribly tight. She gave a small strangled whimper and then cleared her throat for the words to come. "Isn't right? He'll come to his senses Ausi." She knew from experience that running never solved anything. In fact running had simply made things worse for her. She had run into Dharba's embrace and had grown fat with cubs since that encounter.

Ausi was right, though, for Ivie would smell of cubs.

"Everything will be okay."

Oh, Ausi, the Ausi who could have been a friend. Had she really chosen love over friendship? Yes, she had loved Fedha, in fact she still did, but was it worth all of this? Had she really turned into such a bitter and selfish creature?

Her head snapped up as Ausi spoke her name. The tone was different somehow. Accusing? She staggered to her paws and gave a soft mewing sound. "W-w-wh...." But the word was stuck in her throat and refused to make itself known.

(( If Ausi wants to hit/scratch/bite Ivie, by all means she has the right <3 *is excited to see what comes of this RP* ))

“You.”

She stuttered at first, twisting her gaze back as she slowly felt a chuckle pass her. She lived in the pride lands before; she had once told Ausi… FEDHA once lived in the pride lands, back when he had left her to find Gods to bother. Her muzzle tightened as she gave the green lioness a deathly glance of both anger and rage.

“You know Fedha, don’t you? You do, I can tell by the way you hold yourself, by the way your body tilts every time I say his name. You---”

She couldn’t believe it, was this really happening? Her new friend and lover of many years… was this, was this real?

And the cubs, she smelt them, she did- were they...?

She snarled and quickly jumped in front of Ivie, hissing and thrashing her claws. She was in ranged.

“TELL ME! What is going on?- I KNOW you are hiding something, tell me now!”

(Ausi can get VERY out of hand, so that may happen. XD it’s the firekin in her.)

That glare. Ivie didn't recognise Ausi in that glare. It was angry, filled with rage and hate. Ivie, though she liked to plot, was not a fighter, she didn't know how to snarl. So, it was only to be expected that she was terrified and she couldn't help but show it.

Then the black and red spoke and Ivie felt a shiver run up her spine and a strange tightness in her chest. Maybe she would die? Maybe her heart would burst.

And then she leapt and Ivie fell to the ground as if gravity had just turned up the power. Her chin cracked against the ground, her ears flattened and her eyes welded shut. She tried to speak but she was shaking too much. Was this it? Would she die here at the claws of Fedha's mate?

"N-no." He voice was strangled and dry. "O-O-Okay...I know F-fedha." That much was true. She had known Fedha since she had been a cub. She had been a weeping mess back then and he had brought her out of it. "I-I met him in the p-p-pridelands."

“If you lie about one thing then you are being false about other things, I can smell it on you. Don’t you dare stand here and tell me lies, I swear to the gods it will be the last thing you do--if you lie to me anymore.”

Ausi had snapped and her eyes flashed with anger and rage. She couldn’t contain it anymore. It all was falling into place, Fedha had lied to her and this female, this female that she had called friend was now being fake- she had done something and this was why Fedha was acting so strange!

She was going to get answers.

“Tell me now, what is going on with you and MY mate?”

Fear gripped her, refusing to release her from it's throes. Oh what had she done? What had she done? The anger in the lionesses eyes terrified her. She saw something in their that she hadn't seen in the face of any other lion before.

She shrank submissively, curling her tail up around her hind legs.

"I I I..." She gulped, blinked tears back and tried again. "I'm sorry." Her apology was blurted, desperate. Her eyes flickered from side to side to try and find a way out. She didn't want to die! What about her cubs? There'd be no one to care for them. Oh, her babies! She released a pained cry and took another step back, stumbling over her own tail.

"P-please. Nothing happened. He l-loves you, not me." The words pained her more than she could ever imagined. "He w-w-would never choose me over you." She cowered. "P-please Ausi..."

What could she say? Nothing. Nothing was going on between Fedha and her and nothing ever would. She looked up again, pleading.

Ausi could have torn her hide into two had she really believed this was all a lie, but something inside of her put her back a step and than another until all she could do was swear and hiss. This so called friend of hers was nothing but a coy to get close to Fedha and it was driving her mad.

Ausi would not be played.

Moving herself forward she snarled again and warned the green female in a very dark tone.

“If I find out you have been lying to me I will rip your world apart.”

With that Ausi turned and dashed off quickly.

She needed to find Fedha. NOW.

She collapsed, watching the red, black and white lioness flee. Her heart was pounding in her chest, her muscles hurt from the tension. Her eyes filled with tears.

Could she blame Ausi for being like that? It was the part truth after all. She had tried to take Fedha away from her, though her attempts had always seemed to fail.

It wasn't fair!

She snuffled, felt hot tears moisten the fur on her face, and pulled herself to her feet, turning back the way she had come.

And so it seemed that Ivie had lost possibly her only friend.
