My local ska scene's kinda... Eh. Not so big.
But we have great ska bands hailing from long island.
Well, the only ones I know of that are/were pretty big are Patent Pending and the Arrogant Sons of Bitches.
But we've also got:
Benny Fabulous (A band full of some of my friends and my older brother.)
The Homecoming Queens
Bomb the Music Industry (Not so much ska, but most of the members of ASOB are in this band)
The Watergate Brigade
Old Fashioned Oyster Crackers

And that's all I can really think of.
So, guys:
-Show us your local ska favorites!
-Or your own band, what the hey!
Come on now, I love hearing new music smile

My local ska scene... well. My town's ska fan population is, to my knowledge, 1. Me. But at my school it's pretty big, I go to school a couple towns over. I'm in a band with a few friends, playing trumpet and singing.

We haven't recorded anything at all yet, so.... can't really link to it.

My local ska scene is actually pretty big. Of course by big, I mean on ska popularity standards. It's nothing compared to the pop, rock, emo, and rap scenes, but I think it's significantly bigger than some other places I've been to. I do my best to introduce everyone I can to ska.

If there's a scene in Orlando, they're hiding very well from me.

I know about Ten 13 Concept, and a couple others.... But that's about it.

I meet the rare rudie, fall in love with them... Then go Skatanic on 'em. twisted

I love ct ska so many good bands came outta here but lately it kinda sucks. Every one "grows up" or they just stop playing the ct scene sucks. So these days the shity ska bands from ct are getting all the credit cuz they are the only ones playing confused

I used to think my ska scene sucked, but turns out that's cause I haven't really been looking into it hard enough (not a terrible punk or jazz scene though, and a good blues scene). I guess my city (Austin, Texas) has a bit of everything (it has more music clubs per capita then any other city in the US or something like that). My mind was changed on Friday, when I saw the English Beat (great show by the way, they've still got it) with Eleven Fingered Charlie opening (kickass sax player, they're more 3rd wave). The Slackers also play here sometimes.

Locally... there basically is no ska scene. The only ska band thats within 2 miles from where I live is:
Larger than Normal

But check out the entire Nj Ska scene!

Arizona actually has a pretty good ska scene, though I hate most of the people in it =P

The majority of them are clueless losers who know nothing about ska.

But we do get some pretty good bands to play (The Slackers, The Aggrolites, The Toasters, Westbound Train, etc etc)

Local scene(nashville) is pretty quiet with the fall of Southern Ska (radio show, message board, largest ska e-zine, and promotion company) Basically, bands now skip us in favor of atlanta, even though its a ******** cesspool as far as promotions go

I saw Jay Tea once, didn't like them all that much.
I guess I was talking about bands I've seen more than once in my area.
