No matter how hard he'd tried Siyo could not get the little maned wolf female to go away. She had started sticking to him like glue!
He was not cruel enough to whap her in the skull or something equally hurtful to convince her to get away from him, he didn't need a pal. As she believed anyhow. She also kept bugging him about food! It wasn't like she was some hungry cub or something, couldn't she go hunt for herself? When he'd asked her she just laughed as if that was a ridiculous idea.
What was with females these days? No matter what species!

The small maned wolf just gave the big lion a devilish grin.
He'd tried to give her the slip a while ago (and had gotten away for a period of time) but she'd managed to find him easily enough. She wasn't sure why she was bothering him, she guessed it was something to do.
"So your homelands?" She questioned out of no where.

He blinked and looked startled, glancing to the maned wolf. "Wha?" His eyes narrowed dangerously as he shot a glance toward the forest not very far ahead of them. "Ow'd yeh know tha'?" He snarled, stopping dead in his tracks.
Not only was she a little pest but it seemed she could read his thoughts as well!
He didn't really believe that but it was still strange that she knew he was headed for a place he called 'home'. Not that it ever would be his home, oddly enough.
But who could say what to believe in any longer? Just a short while ago that day he'd ran into a god. An actual living, breathing god. Still... it had only been a cub!

She gave him a devilish grin and pranced ahead, spinning about in a few circles. "Over heard it." She didn't bother explaining farther than that, she just yipped at him and danced into the shadows of the trees.
"C'mon slow poke!" She called out.

"Like 'ell yeh did." He muttered to himself, thinking about when he'd ever said he was going home. To Laone? Maybe that was when... he shuddered and headed for the trees, ignoring the maned wolf once again as he passed her.
She kept on chattering though, nonstop. He wanted to kill her.
He sighed long and hard, ears pressed against his skull and hidden beneath his fluffy mane. He just couldn't get rid of his problems, could he? If it wasn't a female cheetah it was a female lion. If it wasn't a female lion it was a female maned wolf. His world... really stunk.
His eyes flickered over the vast forest and he shivered a little. The place creeped him out, it would have even with out hearing the vicious ghost stories his mother had told him when he was young. Or rather, threatened him with.

She frowned when she realized he wasn't answering any of the questions she'd asked about his home, family, friends, et cetera. Maybe he was dense?
She noticed the shiver and a mischievous look came about her features. Afraid of the dark? Her tail swished back and forth as she suddenly nipped his ankle with a loud, "BOO!"

He jumped with a small shout and stumbled as he turned around, paw raised, to hit whoever was biting his ankles.
When his gaze landed on her.
His eyes flashed angrily and he felt rather foolish. "Yer evil." He muttered, bopping her very lightly on the head. "Do no' do tha' yeh migh' stir up the spirits." He mumbled, hoping she wouldn't ask about what he meant.
His tail twitched and he quickened his pace. He hoped they were still headed in a straight line. That was his trick to getting through the forest... as long as they didn't come to any hills or cliffs or something. Or a river... did the river wind through the forest? No he didn't think so...

She laughed for a while after frightening him so, not even upset that he'd bopped her on the head. She started to hum when her laughter died down, looking around and very amused at his comment.
Spirits? Yeah. Right. "How much farther until we get there?" As if they had planned traveling together or something.

He snorted. "When will I be ge'in thurr yeh mean?" He shot her a glance and childishly stuck his tongue out at her. "Soon. Bu' yeh shoul' run off an'unt or sommit by yerself." He demanded, frowning as he noticed the trees were starting to thin out. It was a sign they were getting close to the end of the forest.

She looked upset for maybe a fraction of a second before a sneaky thought entered her mind. She giggled and shrugged. "Alright, see you!" And with that she was dashing off the way they'd came.

He blinked and his head jerked to follow her with his gaze as she ran off. Once she was out of sight he breathed a sigh of relief and kept walking to the edge of the woods.
Still, he felt that wouldn't be the last of her. He had more important things to worry about though... it seemed he was home.
